Me and my friend both worked at a gas station. I make about 350 dollars a week. Multiply that by 17 weeks from April 1st to July 31st and it's about 6 thousand dollars. On the other hand my friend who worked the same job and got laid off is on pace to make around 14 thousand dollars in the same timeframe due to the extra 600 a week on unemployment. I am working like a dog working overnights and losing out on 8 thousand dollars. Fuck the government.

It was an incredibly shortsighted and rushed decision. Should've just given 600 a week to every adult, or at least a portion of it to the still employed. Incentivizing unemployment is a horrible move: i was getting 1200 unemployment and now that im back to work if feels retarded working 40 hours for a whole $200 more
