I've never invested in cryptocurrency, but wish I had before the Bitcoin boom that happened in 2017. I was fresh out of the military with roughly 20K I could have doubled. Now that the initial hype is over for cryptocurrency, the liquidity also left. It was always a ponzi scheme, but I could have profited. I've always been afraid of investing because I want to know the intricate details of what I've obligated myself in. I've only invested in the stock market once after careful research. I made a $2 profit after a year because I noticed how predictable biopharmaceutical companies are. It would have been $22, from an invested $60, but brokerage fees ate up $10 each buy/sell. It's likely I'm more rational than most when it comes to investing, but that means I can't take risks.

I mined in 2014-2015 but was a noob and forgot the password for my exported wallet file. I still have it but can't access it. It's not a very big $ amount (at this time) and have repurchased the lost amount over time.

Got me out of the market for a while. But luckily i had put a sell order for the remaining of my xmr at previous ath and it bounced back of it again. So when i got back i had a bunch of btc and could buy back most of my xmr :).
