Because everything is supposed to be priced in, but we really haven't been given enough bad data to actually see the market react even more negatively. US Federal government and the Fed are also tainting the movement, some of their support programs are nothing but talk, others have pumped literally unlimited liquidity, there's actually so much shit going on in the immediate timeframe I don't think anyone can accurately react, so we're reflexively frozen.

Having said that we've also got to cover the insane PE ratios some companies have. NFLX has an insane PE while also having terrible DE ratio. Insofar as the upward movement of indices, they're mostly towed by megacaps, while most everything else is still held down in the mangled remains of the market. Meanwhile shit is also hitting ATH somehow, despite exposure to recessionary effects.
