USA has never had a problem paying their debt, and they cycle national debt at an average of 4 fucking years, which is very fast compared to the rest of the world.

Unironically I believe this Chinese Crash will lead to China's collapse. They've been so obsessed with overtaking America in GDP that they've resorted to Enron-style fuckery, which is going to majorly bite them in the ass while the global economy pumps the breaks. Speaking debt, China's total debt is literally 300% of GDP in 2019. Their economy was already borrowing on the margin of the margin so they could try to meet Xi's goal of GDP growth by 2020. Even if they recover much faster than the west, their export economy is reliant on a healthy western economy for growth.

China deliberately allowed the Shanghai Shivers to spread internationally before containment because they didn't want to be the only ones suffering economically. This will bite them in the ass just like when Mao wanted to exterminate the sparrows, which lead to an overwhelming population of locusts who ate all the grains and lead to one of the greatest famines in history.

I realise you're drunk but your musings show that you have little to no understanding of the fundamentals behind solar tech. Regardless of how shit or overpriced Tesla is or isn't, you shouldn't be making decisions based on whatever papers you're reading about solar. We might get more efficiently put together solar panels but from the sounds of it you're asking if we might get solar panels with actual higher wattage per area; we are already fairly close to the Shockley-Quiesser limit, further advances will be in mass production or material costs and would not incentivise replacement of any existing panels, the effect on Tesla would be entirely positive

Climate effects would be localised and minor and any paper saying they cause drought was probably written by coal lobbyists. By the way, I think solar PV is shit.

Likely because nuclear waste is a huge fucking disaster to process and store, and, correct me if I’m wrong but last I checked we’ve never actually successfully decommissioned a nuclear power plant.

They don’t report on it because it’s not sexy, but there’s always these inspector general or whatever reports about the lining of the containers leaking and contaminating, often not too far from aquifers and shit.

Basically, thank fuck the US has massive deserts like nevada and New Mexico to mine uranium and store waste in. If we were a smaller country it would be tough to find a place to store this shit.

The whole process is kind of a nightmare, you have to try to reclaim fissable nuclear material so you bathe the spent fuel in acid and shit and create a lot of nasty material that then you have to find a place to put for like thousands of years.

Meanwhile, the engineering tech of nuclear and non nuclear power generation is increasing all the time. Why start building more nuclear now when we have many other sources to turn to, and we’ll have much better reactor options if we wait a few years.
