Options are just gambling disguised as muh insurance and contracts. Don’t let niggers tell you otherwise.

Calls- you think the price will go up. Example: SPY is at 280 and you think it will go up to 290. I can either buy In the money calls (calls below 280) or Out of the money calls (calls above 280). OTM short term calls are significantly cheaper but much more of a gamble. OTM long calls are more expensive but still a gamble. If i buy a SPY 280 call and it goes up to 282 i basically pocket the difference between their contracts price. It’s not as simple as that because there is also implied volatility and other shit but that’s pretty much it.

Puts are the same shit. SPY is 280 and i think it will go down to 270. I can either buy OTM puts (much more of a gamble, but cheaper) or ITM puts (safer, less of a gamble but more expensive). Itm puts would be 280 and above. It goes down, i pocket the premium change.
