Here's what I do with bent or dented coins

stick it between 2 clean flat blocks of wood. I use 2X4's or whatever. Then you pound the crap out of the top piece of wood with a sledge hammer to flatten the coin between the wood blocks.

You have to be pretty careful, but with a bent or dented coin it can flatten it out quite a bit.
