not for me buying in the US. I can exchange USD from my bank to USDC for no fees on coinbase. There's a tiny withdrawal fee (like 3 cents). There's also a bit of slippage when exchanging on Uniswap but that'd be true of anything. At least with USDC I don't have to pay fees to Coinbase like you do when buying Ethereum.

yes, because the amount of Hex you get is proportional the the amount of ETH you put in over the total. So, if you put in 2 eth and the total for that day is 10000, you get 1/5000th of the HEX.
