This is the correct mindset to have, and eventually it might expand to cover other asset classes. But it's the key to accumulating wealth until you actually have the capital where spending money like that becomes insignificant.

Don't get carried away just yet, and enjoy your newfound vision.

Congratulations, anon. You're on "the path"

When I first started investing I had the same thoughts so I did a deep dive into my budget, recorded every expense for 3 months, categorized each and started looking around for where I could cut spending. Ended up shaving $300 a month off all my expenses, all of which went into stocks. That was 10 years ago and I estimate that I’ve turned that $300 a month saved into $80k, hard to tell though as it just mixes into the rest of my folio.

>Also what did you mean by the oil price and daily rates?
We generate revenues by charging customers for the loading, transportation and storage of their crude oil using the vessels in our fleet. We provide these services under time charters and bareboat charters.

Each charter is a contract for the use of a specified vessel for a fixed period at a specified daily rate.

Nah. US is firmly stuck in the two party system. Third party candidates get minuscule vote percentage. Even in leafland where there are three, sometimes four, parties with a shot to get a meaningful percentage of parliament seats, the phenomenon of vote splitting rarely comes in to play in the final results. Everybody talks a lot about vote splitting in leaf land but the numbers don't support the obsession with it.

you will have double, possibly better gains if you just routinely put the same amount of money into an index fund like swppx or vstax and some high grade US treasury bonds (once the yield isn't shit) and ignore market movements, or if you really want to gamble on stocks do 90% in that index and 10% in a different account in speculative stuff with a strong reason for buying

fucking NONE of those
The death of nightlife means no more "I'm a social smoker" and bitches buying a pack before hitting the bars every weekend, means less people picking up the habit. ESPECIALLY if they know that smokers are also being killed inn greater numbers from covid.

I've only heard bad things about all the US gun and ammo manufacturers that are publicly traded.

And RTX has a growth opportunity if private jets become the new normal. Otherwise they're in trouble. LMT making all the fancy new cooler missiles and spacecraft. BA isn't kidding when they say it's going to take many years for commercial air travel to return to normal, if ever. That business is FUCKED.

RTX was a bargain at $50, congratulations. If it dips back to low 50's it's interesting. At this price, well it's like if a lesser quality LMT was saddled with a Boeing's nightmares.

vstax covers pretty much the entire market, swppx (and other s&p500 index mutual funds) just buy all of the stocks in the s&p 500 index fund, you can pretty much toss all of your money in either one and if the market goes up, you make money, if every single company drops, you lose some money, but you're basically maximally diversified so if some stocks go up and others go down then you just see slow gains over time.

the market is really weird right now so I would pick one fund and invest whatever money you're going to over a few weeks like 10% at a time. if it crashes again you get more shares for the same price, if it recovers then you're getting pieces of decent companies

if you just want to be "in the stock market", doing that, and then consistently buying more of the same fund with the amount of money every month means that you don't have to pay any more attention to it AND you'll beat almost every big shot mutual fund that has ever existed just by virtue of not paying huge fees

for the record these aren't stocks or ETFs, you have to buy them as "mutual funds" and they only trade once a day

>>18744402
you can buy them direct from the treasury or through your brokerage, I'm sure there's a tab for searching for bonds. If you can't figure it out just call the brokerage and say you want to buy 5, 10 or 30 yr treasury bonds, either new or on the bond market. you can always sell them on the bond market later

https://www.treasurydirect.gov/indiv/products/prod_eebonds_glance.htm

if you want to just make a good amount of money every year and not care, stop there, if you want to know any more than this about the stock market read a book, "intelligent investor revised edition" by graham and zweig is a good start, you can find it free on anonfile

Did you know 1.6 million children in the United States have a peanut allergy. Despite the growing number of cases year after year for the last few decades there is NO FDA approved treatment option. The standard of care is to avoid peanuts all together, and to carry and epipen. For many, this is a life long burden. Peanut allergy is the most common food allergy.

>Enter DBVT

They just reported positive three year long term data study of Viaskin Peanut in children with peanut allergy.
Meeting with FDA is scheduled in the next few months. Could this be a $50 stock? Time will tell.

Its clear that once the lock down ends, infections will immediately sky rocket. This thing is so contagious, that even after a month of lock downs, we are BARELY flattening cases. It may not be the most deadly virus, but youre definitely going to catch it. It survives best in conditions that humans favor (ie home/office temperature and humidity with low UV). Wuhan is still on lock down but China has to force people to go to work now.

I don't specifically know what other contracts work on, but our segment is cyber and space, so that generally means, based on my limited non-management understanding, cyber related defense (anti-hacking, counter-hacking, etc) and space (software, support programs, even stuff like space training solutions). Before the merger, Raytheon was booking insanely high numbers in their contracts. We were getting so much work my program expanded three fold.
Honestly, the merger with Collins et al is a bit of a drag on our overall performance for right now, but as they get brought into the fold of things I think it'll probably work out. But like I said, I'm a software developer with no project management experience, so I'm not as in-tune with the business as others might be.
I will say one thing though, that I can speak to directly for my program; we have a metric fuckton of institutional knowledge. So many other manufacturers and developers in this industry (*cough* boeing *cough* lockheed *cough*) have let their institutional knowledge waste away from poor pay, poor management, and shit upper level business decisions. We've managed to keep some pretty smart motherfuckers for literal DECADES on the program I'm involved in, and that situation is repeated for many others as well (though there's always a few dumpster fire programs nobody wants to be on and that have like 6 months as the longest held position).
>>18745262
No work from home for me, since I'm in classified shit. Kind of sucks, but they've been taking care of us with free food, free masks, and hand sanitizer fucking everywhere. Defence/aerospace is so concentrated that even if I had insider info and were willing to share it (and were in the US), it wouldn't be very helpful. You can't buy stocks in specific parts of a company so all you can really do is pick between lockheed/northrop/raytheon/etc, and advance knowledge of some medium sized contract is hardly gonna help much there. I guess theoretically you could pick some small cap who happen to win a supply contract for a million top spec O-rings or something but whatever

My suggestion based on general industry knowledge would actually be the same as the rest of /smg/'s, buy Raytheon, also Northrop Grumman if the fundamentals look ok. I don't trade US markets because the tax would be too complicated for me to bother

You're a fucking retard. Greenspan is who fucked us all over by micromanaging interest rates to benefit his buddies. Any semblance of capitalism was lost when he took over, whatever efficient distribution of resources still remained were instead squandered by big government and that just continued more and more over the decades. Paper over the dotcom crash with a housing bubble, paper over the GFC with ZIRP and a corporate debt bubble. Now government is gonna be buying up private companies, owning the means of production, actual shadow communism all because Greenspan just couldn't leave natural market forces alone.

RIP Volcker

Last I had heard, they've been on mandatory overtime for 2 years, they got 0% aware fees multiple times (means the government gave them 0 extra dollars for doing well. Contra to that, my program got 100% award fees time after time), and the average experience on the program was 6 months. Nobody wanted to work in it and it caused massive turnover.
Last I heard they had finally started to get a handle on it by changing management around like crazy and finally throwing enough bodies at it. Whatever it is that they're making though, I'm just fucking glad I wasn't involved.

I hate fucking polys. Stupid snake oil shit. Still had to take one. Fun fact though, the re-up on clearances is supposed to be every five years, but they've got such a massive backlog that people who need a re-check won't get one for maybe another year and a half or greater. We had guys LEAVE THE COMPANY because they spent a year waiting for their background check and twiddling their thumbs in the unclass segment of the company (which usually can't supply enough work for them). COVID has made it even worse because nobody is getting background checks right now.

They did before the Federal Reserve came into power. The mid 1800s leading up into the early 1900s was the most prosperous time in American history. The Industrial Revolution could have only happened the way it did because of free market capitalism.

Real wealth, real growth, this is when electric appliances started to become viable and the classic American dream came into focus. All of a sudden families could, for example, store perishable food at home for long periods of time in a magic box that kept things cold. Electric mixers, vacuum cleaners, fucking air conditioning, the 1880s through the 1920s must have been an amazing time to live through.

And this greatest period of expansion and progress was all DEFLATIONARY. Get fucked Keynes, turns out that lower prices are good and demand doesn't fall as long as your economy isn't based on fucking debt like today

Defense is cool and all, but the large companies can be slower moving and might feel a bit restrictive. Can you be without your phone all day? In some scifs (not mine, we have unclassified computers right in our cubes, air gapped from our dev boxes of course), can you be without a connection to the outer internet for most of the day?
The pay also might not be as good as bleeding edge tech companies or silicon valley type companies. At the same time, if you land the right program, work can be steady and comfortable but still challenging (but not all the time).
If you've REALLY got connections, you can look for bleeding edge wannabe defense contractors angling for early contracts. Those guys can be SUPER bleeding edge, small and tight outfits, and from what I've heard, can pay out the fucking ass for good talent. Those are basically the biotech of defense.

Aero is nice because as a local wherever you are you're in uniquely high demand due to security clearance being easier/actually possible, you're sheltered even if immigrant labour increases more. Software engineering has very broad options and employability but lots of shit grads and shit courses so it doesn't really set you apart, maybe a nice double degree since in aero you'll have a lot of boomer bosses who can use matlab and python but typically write everything as a giant script with a few subroutines. Do your due diligence on each uni's reputation and post-graduation employment stats for each course, also their reputation for research since if you graduate into a hiring slump it's easy to go back and hide in a master's or PhD (maybe) for a year or three at your own uni if you got excellent marks in a subject taught by a prolific researcher

Since its high iq NEET hours what value companies/etf’s should I DCA into? I’ve pretty much capitulated to hodling my dollars at least most of them because of the fed’s blank check will lead to insane inflation once they become insolvent/finally print money to cover the monetized debt. I know I’m late to the show, but its still probably not a bad idea to begin DCAing. I’m trying to avoid things retail investors buy since they seemed overpriced considering we’re heading into a recession. It likely will just not immediately. The way I see they either

A. Monetize so much debt we become insolvent
B. Monetize so much debt the only way we can pay it back is printing money.
C. End QE infinite and watch the economy explode

All of these end in US financial ruin/large inflatiom.

I’m still going to hold ~50% cash equivalents, but right now I’m sitting at like 70%. I don’t like risk since I have plans for that money in the future

I like all those companies, but they seem way overvalued from what I can tell. I don’t really understand fractional reserve jewish money alchemy so JPM is off the table for me.

Why pepsi and not cocacola? Cocacola is more brand recognizable and a larger PE. Also I think the ciggarette business is doing fine abroad. I haven’t really bothered to look into it yet though, but I would before investing. I do like MSFT. Some of the other tech giant scare me though since I think they might be slowly hemmorage value by regulations and lawsuits.

I’m looking for companies that are priced right and if they are I’m perfectly fine DCAing since inflation risk is so high now.

I just don’t want risk and don’t have a clue how the medical industry works. I wish you the best of luck though. I’ve added it to my meme watchlist so I’ll keep an eye out for it.

>a larger PE
you know that generally means it's more expensive and is the opposite of what a "value" investor would look for?

I think you should seriously research how value investing has preformed for many years now. The king of value investing is often considered to be Ben Graham, whose protege was Warren Buffett. For my value investing, I believe Buffett is better at it than I could ever be, and I trust that he is choosing his successors wisely, so I just buy BRKB as my only "value" play.

PEP because it's Pepsi Frito-Lay. That means it's Lay's, cheeto's, Dorito's and a whole bunch of other shit people are buying like mad right now to treat themselves, and are always eating in good times and bad times.

tobacco business isn't growing in nearly every country, and covid19 will likely cause many users to die and scare many away from it. Also will kill all the social smoking business. many countries are very protective of their national tobacco industry, like India.

TMDXanon was not this much of a shill. It's pathetic when you fucks jump on band wagons and shill stocks for other people. It's the same thing for LCI, RTX, GALT, etc. It's the same pathetic story and it nearly always ends poorly.
