I don't quite understand why /biz/ can't wrap its mind around this token, because it's so fucking simple.

It's certificate of deposit and financial instrument. You can send it and receive it. Just like bitcoin, except there's an actual product: you can lock up your coins for some period of time (akin to a CD). People who don't lock their coins pay some fee in form of an inflation tax. People who lock up their coins pay less of a fee or even see a bit of an increase, depending on how long they lock up.

That's it.

How much is this worth? Simple: it could be worth as the CD market that it correlates with, and how much people use CD's.

HEX has a few thing going for it:
- The locking mechanism might help prevent panic dumping
- It's in the Ethereum ecosystem so it can automatically be used in all protocols that support ERC20
- It's grabs people's attention, if only because of its extravagant creator ("there is no such thing as bad publicity")
- Asia is still sleeping on it. Imagine if they ever FOMO on it.

it may have to do that richard heart has had legal issues scamming before, used to sell anti aging snake oil cures with a nonprofit that never existed, has deep affiliations with Panaman Crime Syndicates, has no accredited educational background, carries many different identities of which we don't even know which one is real. i don't care if the coin does a 10x or 100x from the moment i sell. there is always another moon mission. the coin itself doesn't do anything unique and there are many alternatives, so i don't have any reason to uniquely believe in its practical capability. the only reason i'd buy is to sell it later, which is perfectly fine, but i'll be damned if i trust such a vile, slimy, disgusting man with my hard earned American dollars. there's always another moon mission and i am dead certain this one will end up like the Challenger.

i don't care if cryptos a scam, thats outside of the scope of this discussion. the point being is that the character behind the man running the business matters deeply to the business's success. richard has literally one of the shittiest track records imaginable. i don't care if this specific project is a scam. i don't care if he's turned over a new leaf. i don't care if hex works or doesn't. the chances that this doesn't go up in flames are so astronomically low and richard is such a scummy guy that i don't want to put my money with him. you seem like a bright guy who's just grown disillusioned with the world. you do as you please, of course, but really stop and think if the dreams of the lamborghini and yacht in your mind are clouding you from making a rational judgement. when my hex went up, i felt ecstatic, and i thought 'but what if i just hold'. thats how i knew to sell, anon.

Richard here.

This project was started to solve a personal problem, that is why it's more legit than any other project in crypto right now. As many of you know, I was barely getting by doing hourly magician gigs, you know, sleight of hand card tricks, long ass handkerchiefs, shit like that. I was sinking fast and had been going to my magician gigs hungover. Most of the time I would have to take a flask of bourbon along just to make it thru the gig. One Monday I started, well... continued, a gnarly bender after doing tricks for some rich banker's kid's bar mitzvah. I was so depressed hearing them talk about their parents money I just kept smashing whisky shots and doing insane amounts of blow I got off this gayboi designer I met at some club. We fucking went apeshit man.. when I woke up the next friday afternoon I saw all the ideas we came up with in our coked out frenzy to start an Ethereum token ponzi scheme. I used to be a BTC maximalist before I got into magic so I kinda know the crypto scene. The logo was so good and apparently I promised this gayboi that he would make millions off this logo so he would keep fronting me blow... I don't want to fuck that up cuz he's super hot and I don't get that type of boi pussy as much these days. This shit was fucking pristine too, like sticking your dick in a warm meatloaf. Anyhow, I have to do this thing now so check out Hex and if you are early enough you might make a few bucks, but probably not.

Regarding his character. The man has spent the last 4 years giving out free content to his followers in the form of self help videos, books and long form livestreams. He's talked about the problem of scams in crypto since before the 2017 bull market way before he decided to create his own cryptocurrency. He's debated many of the top people in crypto on his livestreams, and not just debated but won most of the debates he has had. He has repeatedly talked about how much he hates inefficiency in business, tech and life in general and how a lot of the problems in crypto are not really addressed by the main spokesmen of the industry. He has talked about the importance of medical research (mainly SENS) above everything else as a goal in life.
The memes about his past may hold some truth to them regarding some of the facts, but they are all without exception one sided and framed as if he were the biggest scammer to have ever lived. The problem is that people who repeat them don't really look at the full picture.
Why would a guy spend hours upon hours on answering the most toxic questions that could be asked of him live in front of an audience time after time if his goal was to exitscam and dump the value of his project? When you really think about it it doesn't make any sense, especially when you realize how good of a project Hex actually is.
Judging by the way you write, you seem like a reasonably smart guy anon. there's way too much good that Richard has done over the past years to outright dismiss him and Hex as a scam. Hope you think about it, don't just yell scam because you didn't get a bag in time.

Among the top 3 most popular investments you can make at a bank?

Dwell on this question and the implications.

Checking
Savings
CDs

Hex is crypto CD, think about how important that is for the volatility of a crypto. Think about how you would design a crypto CD yourself, how it would be able to be viable. Before you even think of investing do your research on everything that Richard has to say about how HEX works as a CD. Listen to what he has to say regarding how BitConnect failed. Listen to his debates and the involved, esoteric discussions. Come back and offer something more than time wasting ad hominem. I can't predict the future, but love it or hate it this coin has potential.

no, not at all. this is way more similar to POWH. Because holders have big penalties for selling the upword spikes are more violent while people are buying.
normal cryptos are not like that. they also are less likely to completely collapse with 0 new interest after falls.
but the penalty for selling quickly is not a deterrent in a crash scenario, because holders realize if they don't sell they'll lose everything so they're ready to sell at any price.
