18729844 No.18729844 [Reply] [Original]

Ross Ulbritch (certified oldfag) predicts 3k, then 100k+.

As another oldfag, this is line with my thesis: That we still have way too hopium. A 3k post halving would be brutal and liquidate the remaining non-hodlers of last resort as well as kill altcoins, so the next rise would mean 80%+ BTC dominance, in other words a healthy rise. The fear of "if BTC goes below X after halving its dead" would also go away because it will survive, but somehow retards think "BTC stops being profitable below X price". The triple monster resistance at around 8k area will be the begining of the last capitulation. Once Bitcoin is dead articles start popping and everyone is frustrated, you go all in.

As another oldfag I unironically hope you are right. I want this space cleansed and normies to be washed out. There is just no good alt projects in the space except for stuff like NYZO and CKB. Unfortunately, I think you are wrong and we are about to go into another major bubble. I hope you are right because I have a huge cash position and I would do anything to buy sub 5k BTC, it's just not going to happen and I'm not delusional to think it will.

So you are going to all in now? If you really think that Bitcoin is about to break the triple monster resistance, you should be buying soon.

However, I think that's whats actually delusional. Halving hype is propelled by average joes mostly, and there's not enough money. I doubt rich people are going to buy now, they can afford waiting and buying at a margin after breaking out or just waiting for the correction.

I feel people are too focused on shot term. There are no real LT bears. Just short term bears, that want to buy cheaper, before the bull.
Prediction are
8 > 100
or
8 > 3/4/5 > 100
If it is going to 100K, then any price around now is good.
People are too fucking greedy trying to buy the bottom. And with all these people in Cash. Highest amounts of USDT on the sideline. THere is going to be a moment, where a lot of people are going to be left standing. There is not enough BTC for all people that want.

And if we are not sure what short term price movement is, then ladder in, or DCA.

People should realize that even though we are in hardcore fear sentiment, BTC has rebounded 100%. Thats insane. Imagine the sentiment goes to normal, then positive, then FOMO.

For sure it might go lower ST. But there might also be a lot of short who are starting to feel very sweaty.

I’m long term bearish on BTC because mining rewards will go to 0 over time. The only thing that can save BTC as a secure blockchain is if the price goes up forever.

I’m happy to sit in cash and wait to buy up ETH and LINK at sub $100 and $2 respectively.

BTC is entering its first true bear market. This shit is just a risk asset right now. Provides no benefit in a deflationary environment.

no. old fag opinions only carry weight because we've been trading BTC longer than most. Ross hasn't been trading BTC, he doesn't know the ups and downs. he's literally doing TA on this shit in prison.
also, the fundamental have shifted since 2013, by a lot if we're being honest. There's a reason it's had multiple major forks as we've discussed and determined what BTC is and should be. it was way more open in 2013. BTCSV is much closer to what the true vision was for BTC in 2013. there's a reason oldfags like it.

Also I love how the biggest argument people have in favor of Ross is that he's in prison.
So fucking what? That makes him impartial? Or any good?
The fact that he's even doing TA behind bars proves that he is trading still, in which case he's no more than any other trader. Only he got caught by fbi for being an idiot

he's been watching it? how? he's in prison dude. he doesn't have internet access where he watches this. he gets updated by his mom.
also, he was not trading this for 6 years. BTC was introduced late 2008 and it didn't even have a price or anywhere to exchange it until 2010. Ross wasn't trading BTC anyway, he was hoarding BTC from silk road fees. he probably didn't create the silk road either, but that's another thread entirely.

You don't need to "watch it" and "do TA" to predict major price moves
All you needed to do in 2018 was hear "$20k top" and be able to reasonably assume about a $4k bottom, or drawdown of about 80%
Or hear "$13k in summer 2019?" Probably too high and too early yet, expect a return to the mean
That's the way I "trade" myself, hardly ever even looking a charts just checking the daily price once in a while

Just like this time around, with the halvening coming up this throws a wrench into things, but normally you would simply think "hmm, worldwide recession going on and major stock crash, plus btc on an upward weeks long winning streak with no corrections?" All I'm trying to say is Ross isn't any better at this than anyone else. he doesn't have inside knowledge or a special knack for trading BTC just cause he ran Silk Road. his opinion shouldn't be valued by anyone above their own or anyone else's. if he was actively trading with his silk road coins, then I'd listen to what he says, cause he'd actually be able to move the market. he's not though.
