War is not "Good" for the economy. War is an act that demands industry, and industrial movement and mobility is good for the economy. The Golden Child of war economy found in WW2 played on a plethora of powerful factors:

-Mass unemployment in both skilled and unskilled work sectors, leading to an instant workforce at the snap of a finger
-Government IOU's and grants for businesses who converted facilities to help with the war effort
-Said businesses were anything as large as IBM to businesses no larger than Clem's Shrimp Shack being tasked with mass production of food, water, clothing, weapons, vehicles, etc. and being fed oceanic IOU's and other payment

The result was the bottom line of the US was almost entirely capable of doing work for all businesses, because the government funneled money into them, and a country full of businesses that had access to all of the payouts from the top and an economically healthy bottom line capable of both investing in the future and continually spending on day-to-day commodities. The growth of the economy was a Bottom-To-Top system, where the vibrant lower to middle class grew money for the upper class.

What we have now is a system that puts literally all military contracts under an extremely small network of businesses, and no Mom & Pop shop will ever be used for military purposes. The money goes to the top, and in almost no way trickles down beyond them hiring a few more people to work for them. The money is not spread around the masses, and instead taxes are increased to cover costs, which means far less civilian spending, far less lower class buying power/investments, etc. This is why 10 years of war in the Middle East has not yielded any economic benefit, and in fact brought us to one of the lowest depressions in American history. Stop spreading this misinformation.
