It was gonna correct, but they were obviously trying to push it past the elections. And it would have recovered quickly when Trump won in the inevitable landslide (that's still happening). A lot of people were predicting a major recession in the very near future, the people who you normally pay attention to. I got out of the more risky ETFs in my 401k last year because of it, and went all conservative to sit out whatever was headed our way. Glad I did, because my account will recover fast when this is over.

The arab fuckheads would have still started their price war, so some pain was headed our way regardless. Glad it blew the fuck up in their faces, but it's making things a lot more of a challenge.

Short term, yeah. Longer term, there was a major hurricane offshore. They kept pushing a recession off by a year, then it was six months, then...boom. The cracks were definitely showing, across the board.
