I have 1500 to spend as a poorfag student on break staying with my mom until I can return to my dorm. She has 4k on her paypal she saved from saving change for the year. Should I just spend it with my 1600 and buy PM's? She will be upset but she will 100% blow it on bullshit. Other than that we are not strapped for cash or anything we are doing fine all things considered. With $5600 is I go this route what do you suggest I get?

I have 1 batboi and want more but I want each in their own capsule so I have to buy 9 from dealers since buying 10 gets me a tube instead. Worth each being in their own capsule or just get a tube?

I don’t know about you all... but because of Corona this is the first time since college that I’ve felt alive. I have lots of silver and been waiting for something like this to happen for 5 years. The point where things get so bad that 1 silver Roosevelt dime will buy me a blowjob from a formerly well to do housewife and her 18 year old daughter at the same time. I’ve been waiting in the shadows laughing at these cuck husbands who buy their wives range rovers instead of buying silver bullion... knowing that I’ll be face fucking their wives mouths for the 1.30$ it cost me to buy that silver dime.

Just yesterday at Whole Foods I seamlessly entered into conversation about Corona with a roastie milf that had a ring on her finger in the water aisle... and I said this is all a cover for trump to bring us back on a gold standard. She started looking at me in amazement like she wanted me to paint her lips in cum. At the end of the conversation I’m like take my number l have plenty of protection and freeze dried food if you ever need it and she took it from me

Throughout most of history there has been a bimetallic standard simply because gold has been necessary for the purchase of expensive items and silver (and secondarily, copper) for the cheaper.

Gold is so valuable that the gold coins most ordinary people can afford to own are dangerously small and easy to lose. Which is why the main circulating coins have always been silver (and copper) with gold used to buy expensive stuff like houses and horses or boats or whatever.

There is a shortage, but not because of mines. There's a shortage because every man and his dog was lined up outside every bullion shop in the Western world back in March to buy metal before the fed made printer go brrr. Remember your average normie is stupid but not a complete idiot.
The high premium is because of transport costs - airlines are gouging every shipment to try and stay afloat. They have no passengers so they are making whatever they can in freight, which isnt a lot. Expect premiums to stay high until the airline industry recovers.

For gold, there is a real pressure from finance people to get things where they are going as quickly as possible, so the best way to do that is airfreight. Buying bullion is very simple, you just phone the refinery, open an account and fron the cash. They send you goods and the certificates. Ezpz. I recommend always buying from the refinery's shop, if you don't know where it is or if they have one, phone them, they'll be very happy to tell you where you can get their goods direct.

The price of silver may go up or down but every dollar you have now is worth less as time goes on, by design. Silver and Gold, in the long term, will hold value, which means that as your dollar devalues, you will be able to trade your metal for more of those devalued dollars. Exactly how much the dollar devalues by date X is hard to predict.
You should consider, however, the weakening state of the American empire and the willingness of foreign powers to implement a gold-based transaction system to rival the dollar payment system - something being worked on by certain individuals right now.

There is currently more demand than supply, so right now is a very good time to be a miner. I know the people at ABC and Siltech very well, they're legitimate and good people who pay their bills. Perth Mint is still government controlled somewhat, so that comes with its own set of considerations, but they obviously refine literally tons of gold every day. The other two aren't as big, but they're growing. They might be right for you, who knows.

Gentlemen,
A monetary abyss will consume those who dwell in the ignorance of their history. Oh my sweet darlings the irony hath unfoldeth that we thought the better part of ourselves would keep check this greed. Smoky & sweet with sticky overtones. It is a foreshadow of things to come my frail companion of skin and bone. An echo of the past coming forth anew into a simultaneous crescendo of both despair and joyous celebration. Perceived as chaos to most, but to a select few, yes, a new order shall flourish under such agreeable conditions akin to a newborns tabula rasa.

Alas brother, now the pores ooze their pulp onto this dung heap. Secondary benefactors and opportunists shall, like insects lay eggs in such conditions. They are but morning dew accumulating on a blade of grass atop a luscious hillside, the latter will form into a droplet, the droplet ventures into a stream, a stream to a river and finally the river into the sea. As a fine wine must hibernate till maturity to be fully classified as 'fine' so too to drink it prematurely brings only a bitter taste to all unfortunate participants concerned. Bleeding on barren land the hosts chose out of a displaced sense of need a steady diet of dust rather than that of flour, their minds have been twisted that cows their basic instinct. Here we planted our seeds of sound specie long ago foreseeing this tragic yet inevitable human consequence.
It is night on a distant shore we stand together as one. Harvest awaits... Listening to waves as if they dictated a measurement of time. Concluding our commune we cast our dials into the waves for they hold no authority over what truth exists beyond our synthetic concept of ‘time' In an instant a voice breaks the silence "The horizon now look! The sun beckons thee!"
Like becoming a flaming phoenix it rises hitherto as we ride its coattails upward and promulgate this great cycle once more.

I bid thee farewell for a fourth and final time on the last bell toll of this age

Adieu

There's really not enough platinum or demand for platinum for it to be a real player, in my opinion. Traditionally speaking, gold has been the store of value, and over the long term it has been increasing in value steadily relative to the dollar - which is to say, the dollar has been steadily decreasing in value. If storing value is the objective, Gold is the solution.

Questions PM friends.

Is silver a cope for poor fags?

The only way it will become valuable as monetary supply is if gold becomes so valuable that every day people cannot transact in it. So why do so many people have only silver stacks? Especially since JP Morgan owns half and will just dump every time it goes on a run.

So the idea is hoping you can get gold in the future? I mean it makes sense if you don't have much money. But I don't understand people that have like 500oz silver and no gold. If silver is undervalued you are going to be rich as fuck with 400oz silver and 1oz gold. But a ratio return would need gold to dump alot (unlikely as it is already used as monetary metal by every single central bank) or silver to increase (more likely as it has some monetary use but still mainly industrial)

Fun Fact: With real silver, especially bars in excess of one ounce, you can (and should) do the magnet test at steeper angles. I have tested silver bars at almost 90 degrees and the neodymium magnet still moves at the speed of a moleasses.

Also, I noticed if you are tested a roll of coins/rounds, pure silver will make youhand feel colder the longer you hold it because it conducts the heat out of your hand faster than you can produce it.

Quoting again, but I ran the numbers on it:
Assuming a $20/ozt physical price (vs the paper price which is down), silver value on that is 21.45. Silver content in 90% US coins is assumed to be 0.715 ozt per dollar, so .715 is used as a multiplier:
20 (dollars per ounce physical) * .715 (ounces in a dollar of 90% US coinage) * 1.50 (face value of coins) == $21.45 in silver content.

So, you're paying $3.65 in numismatic premium for just under 1.1 ozt. Could do worse?

Barrick Gold is trading at a P/E of 11.64 but has cheap mines and just spent their time leading up to now with a new CEO clearing their debts and selling off low-performing mines.

Says they have mines that will produce 5 million ounces produced for AISC under $1000/oz for 10 years minimum.

That's under 50 billion dollars in the next 10 years to produce 50 million ounces of gold. If gold goes to $3000/oz like Bank of America says, that's 150 billion+ in revenue, 100 billion of which is pure profit. The company is currently valued at $66.3 billion

This shit is a fucking gold mine waiting to happen, literally.

I don't think you understand what goes into establishing the spot price. There are about 170 'paper' ounces of silver for every 1 real ounce, and the trading of these 'paper' ounces is overwhelmingly what drives the spot. However, as more and more people begin demanding the delivery of the physical metal they are (in theory) entitled to by having a 'paper' ounce the physical metal price and the paper dominated spot price begin to divorce from each other. Even at the 1000 troy oz bar level, you can see that they are going for $17500-$18000 compared to the 15.05/oz spot right now.

When there's that level of disconnect at the commodity trading level, its more than just a seller's premium. The percieved 'premium' on silver is just the actual price of the metal without 'paper' silver pushing it down.

Actually, physical investments are only a small fraction of the actual demand for Silver. These premiums are a result of limited supply of coins/rounds/bars, not a huge demand for the metal overall.

>what is arbitrage?

If you think that spot/real prices are so out of whack, then I've got an easy proposition for you. There's another level of complexity that makes his conjecture and your question both meaningless-

silver isn't usually mined by the state that owns it. Just like oil and gold it's mostly mined by wealthy foreign companies.

and to make things even more confusing, those foreign companies are also not owned by the states they're based in or the states they work in. They're generally owned by shareholders from all over the world.

in mining and energy the country really doesn't matter anymore unless it's China or Iran or something where the state literally owns the metals it produces. Even then those guys subcontract out a lot of the work to foreigners and ultimately foreign shareholders.

metal almost never belongs to the state that produces it.

Is there any reason not simply to buy the GDX and the GDXJ, rather than mess about with individual gold-mining companies? I bought in pretty close to the bottom and I have already nearly doubled my money, and I don't see that I'd be doing any better had I bought Barrick Gold or any of the other individual companies. ETF is likely to do well. Just recommending Barrick because IMO it's undervalued compared to the other stocks. It's trading at a P/E under 12 and all those other companies on the image I posted are either in some sketchy country like Russia, don't have any declared earnings, or have high P/Es and their growth is priced in.

Barrick has no debt, tons of cash (can make lots of deals), a gold mining veteran/redpilled South African as CEO and is currently undervalued by the market.

Okay, so you obviously have a learning disability. Let me explain:

For a physical ETF like SLV the ETF tracks the price of silver through arbitrage. ETF is priced above spot, people transfer silver metal to the ETF and sell shares, ETF is below spot, people buy shares and redeem them for physical metal. That's how physical ETFs work.

If you're curious, here's a quote from GLD:

"the creation process literally involves transferring bars of gold from the AP’s account at HSBC to the Trust’s account in exchange for one or more baskets of shares."

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1222333/000119312514286430/d767060dfwp.htm

They can't settle in cash because it's not a cash trust.

You'll still shout stupid memes though I'm sure.

Physical ETFs own the underlying metals. On most of them you can get an actual list of the serial numbers of the bars involved. There is no "force majeure" because there's no binding contract here, idiot.

LBJ also wanted to go to war in vietnam and he did. his wife made millions investing in the company that built huey helicopters. this is all historical fact, you can look it up. LBJ fucking hated JFK.

it's a classic case of a chad thinking he was invincible and he allowed traitors into his orbit.

Those .999 Fine Silver ATB 5 oz Coins ... many of them in the series have appreciated multiple times in value. How safe is it to assume that the 2020 National Park of American Samoa editions will at least 3x over a year or two? I only wonder what the mintage is going to be regarding these in particular, taking into account the events that have transpired during its release. What do you think?

>industrial metal
Is palladium also needed in catalytic converters?

Honestly, after seeing the explosion in the oil markets, I’m looking to see what commodities could be next. Could be the industrial metals. This might be the best time to short silver, copper, palladium.

Not sure about platinum, that seems to be the new precious metal, up there with gold. Even though it’s especially valuable for engineering purposes like spacecraft.

>we can't actually use PM's as money, there's not enough
You think we're going to all be trading pieces of 8 for fucking gas? When people talk about using PMs as real money again, they're talking about making the currency actually backed by gold again.

Also, it's not the only money but it is the best money. It meets all of the criteria better than anything, with crypto being a close second. There have been gold/silver resets throughout history after economies wandered away from them.

>durable and portable and a means of exchange
Ehhh... being able to trade it on the internet or use it at a a few coffee shops doesn’t really make it a means of exchange.

It’s also useless without electricity, and not very useful without the internet so... portable and durable seem like an exaggeration to me.

$21.50USD = $34.00AUD

If you bought that local then with shipping, forex and dealer fee that’s not a bad buy.

Order direct from Perth mint would be $18.30USD per coin plus shipping
