Stock market? Done.
Oil? Done.
Next up? Real estate.

Hope you’ve pulled out of everything. You’ve had enough time.

Good, kill all boomer shit.

You are only helping the current express digital transformation of the world. Basic accelerationism at place. Not just communication and information flow like it was till now, but entire businesses, public institutions like schools, everything. The very last hobo is forced to operate on the digital domain aswell, digital or die.

Now think which digital middle man can profit from all this.
Think good

This is completely unironic - not a larp. My dad is a real estate broker and says real estate is next because what sparks a selloff in a recession is usually the liquidation of an estate - usually old people dying with a fully paid off house. This is because the house is paid off and the family has a lot more price flexibility to sell and so if the amount of buyers dries up and the market isn't moving, realtors recommend dropping the price significantly (5-10%) to "catch a falling sword". That is, cash out while there are still buyers willing to pay high prices. The longer you wait, the more prices will drop, the more people will panic sell.

He said his market (Ontario real estate) is prime for a correction because there hasn't been a price correction since he's been a realtor/broker. He also talked to his mortgage broker and he said that 30% of rents went uncollected for the month of April.

Real estate - especially Canadian real estate is going down big time

Canada will unironically set up an institution to take on mortgages to prevent defaults, court foreign investment with incentives, and start going halfsies on new mortgages with young Canadians. Our government will lower the ground to keep the falling knife in the air. Real estate is the only thing Canada has left. It relies on importing debtors to take on mortgages and money laundering to fund the growing trades class and the financier class. You will be in a crater before it starts to crash.

He also brought up mortgage insurance. Apparently CMHC only has like a billion dollars in it. There's no way the mortgage insurance is going to be able to cover all the mortgage defaults, so the banks will take a bath on mortgages as well.

Death of RE is super-bullish because modern RE is a completely artificial speculative asset. Fixing it means people can finally afford a home which means they have tons more money to spend on stuff they actually want.

Alredy bought a couple calls on Barrick Gold. I also bought some taker calls last week and made some decent cash today; I will probably sell those tomorrow. What I am asking, is where to put my money next. I have no idea. I have thought about buying some puts on real estate etf's but I don't know anymore

And they’ll get bailed out at the first sign of trouble, and the second, and on and on in perpetuity. There’s no taxpayer the Canadian government wouldn’t sell into servitude to save the banks here
