Pretty much. Luckily, Alberta decided to nationalize the oil and gas industry and put the entire revenue into a sovereign wealth fund in order to build a more diversified economy and prepare for an oil-independent future. In addition, Kuwait had been producing oil above treaty limits established by OPEC. By the eve of the Iraqi invasion, Kuwait had set production quotas to almost 1.9 million barrels per day (300,000 m3/d), which coincided with a sharp drop in the price of oil.

That's not needed right now though. If the libs weren't retards and allowed the pipeline to be built, this wouldn't be negatively affecting Alberta and Canada nearly as bad.

There's nothing wrong with having an oil based economy for even decades more. Oil is still needed worldwide for the foreseeable future. If the economy wasn't shut down from Corona, you would see this have a large negative effect on the green energy sector as well. Who the hell gives a fuck about "green energy" when it now costs massively more than oil.

Solar cannot supply base load. Assuming you're talking about the US, solar will never be more than a cute side project that people use to take advantage of boomers and hipsters until we improve electrical storage technology and upgrade the grid.

Not even the same guy, but please research electricity production and supply before you put any money into it.

Nuclear, fossil fuels, hydro, OTEC, and tidal are currently necessary to produce base load. Of those types, fossil and hydro dwarf the production of the others.

Nuclear is the bees knees but faggy Gen Xers hate it because they blamed the tech for meltdowns when it was really just Nips and Russians being retarded, so it hasn't caught on.

Because nobody needs fuel.
I see about two /three planes crossing sky over me in a day, it's used to be over a hundred.
How people don't understand jets were biggest consumers and how they didn't see it?
Also since I got your attention, check what is WTI and what is Brent. Brent fell like 6%?
>>18572791
Wind plants were subsidized for like first two years here and only for those who won the quotas. If you want to produce go ahead, they will give you like 5-8 cents/kWh, but it doesn't stop wind plants, because it's still profitable to build them and sell. ROI 7-10 years. Wind plants=milking cows.
I do understand why people are angry about wind being subsidized in place like america where just building them and never producing anything was much more profitable. But it was in a past, or is it still happening? Dare i say gov=milking cow?
>>18573191
You are wrong, solar is shit, here household gets about 30% off, household has a limit of 10kW. "Storage" costs monthly (it varies from 10-20 dollars/euro), and then you can get it back for 3-4 cents (normal price is 14.9 cents/kWh). 1kW is about 1k dollars/euros. You pay about 7k upfront for reduction in electricity price by 55-60%. Solar panels loose efficiency over the years. If you aren't eating electricity, you are loosing money for even investing in it, since they will never pay you for those kWh you generated and sent into network for "storage" and weren't able to use all at a set date in a year. Yes, they will take your kWh u haven't used at the set date and sell to other consumers (it's all paper work since network is not a battery, but you loose if you don't use, gov/distributor wins) Solar ROI? not in your life time, inverter goes broke first before your ROI. Do big solar farms like those in Cali and Israel with mirrors work? Yes.
Solar is shit, panel and inverter makers make money, you aren't saving shit, You probably drive Prius.
