it was first, so it has had the longest amount of time to prove that it's secure. beyond that, it is sensible for everyone to converge on the original rather than agree on one of the hundreds of shitcoins that came afterwards with all their various improvements (which don't have any relevance on BTC's use case as digital gold anyway).
