Realistically what are the chances of buying a $50,000 car out of college?

I graduate in probably 2 year and will probably have a $60,000+ salary out of school

also I dont have any friends and i dont go out much so i think that my expenses are relatively low compared to others my age

ive always wanted a kia stinger gt2, infiniti q60 red sport, or 2020 lexus rcf and im fine with buying used as long as they are less than like 20k miles and newer than 2019

get a 3 old japanese car for 15k max. Trust me young padawan, the value of the cash that you will save, granted you don't waste the savings, will let you flex really hard in your 30s.

If you don't have any friends then who are you trying to impress? Just buy a reliable older used car and put the rest of the money into a 401k. Hell, even just throw it into robinhood and speculate, your return would probably be better than buying a new $50,000 car

Just buy a 2006-2007 nissan 350z if you know how to do basic things such as changing oil or a semi-new toyota gt86 if you dont. You are out of college you dont really need anything stronger than a gt86 and its gonna impress girls (even tho better momvans are going to overtake you)

I'm 20yo with $65k in Chainlink. I'm having a hard time justifying selling $200 worth of LINK to buy a new GPU. I basically only play Ravenfield on lowest settings now for about 30 mins a day which desu has helped me focus more on uni. Anyway, spending $60k of money on a car while your net worth will basically be the same as your car is from a financial standpoint retarded as fuck. Have you driven a car like that before? I've driven a 2009 BMW 750 300kw which costs about €10k and it was nice as hell(apart from the gas consumption). But I mean if you are willing to wage cuck longer to drive a nicer car now, then go ahead. I personally cannot imagine myself wagecucking at all. I'm fully deluded that LINK is gonna make me $1m by the time I'm done with uni(2 more years).

the biggest financial mistake a young man like you will make will be to purchase an expensive car straight out of school. A car will not help you attract women or at least the type of women you want in your circle. It will be a rapidly depreciating asset that you will have to pay large amounts of interest for. And the dopamine rush of having a nice car will wear off in 3 months and it just be a mode of transportation that you stress over to keep clean and undented so you can inevitable trade it in for something practical in the future. I understand the psychology because I was once a young man like you and in that position. Instead pay no more than 20k for a "sporty" but practical car and put the rest of your money into savings and paying off student debt.

im confused because i may be different in that im still driving my 185hp 2016 honda accord that i got in high school and im still having fun accelerating so i dont think a 300-400hp car will wear off on me at all actually. i think i just love driving and my priorities are different

also i wont have any student debt out of school. im looking at my college statement and i have a 16k credit balance for some reason idk why and if i can just withdraw it??

I am you from about 5 years in the future.
(26, 70k salary, "car guy" who frequents /o/ a lot and also likes nice cars)

That's an expensive car for your potential salary. I live with my parents still so my living costs are almost nothing, and Im going to be buying a nice sports car next spring. I set my budget at 40k and even that I realize is a lot of money.

Once you factor in monthly payment+insurance, you will be spending close to half of your salary on this car over the next 3 years. It's not worth it.

Besides all those cars you mentioned are pretty gay desu. Kia stinger has a shit auto transmission, Lexus is for old men. If I could spend 50k I'd buy an older C7 Corvette Z06 or at least a grand sport.
But I can't afford it, so I'm buying a 2018+ Mustang GT 5.0 with the performance package.

I'd recommend you do something similar. 3 year old base Mustang GTs can be had for under 30k, if you want the nice optioned out interior then you can get it for 35k.

But you can't afford a 50k car on a 65k salary. I mean you could but it's stupid. You will look ghetto fabulous

i thought about this the other day
i make 30k currently, almost 30 years old with no bachelor degree

the only people driving mercedes and expensive cars are doctors, lawyers, pretty much people who could take the loan (100k$ of student loan), pay it off in a couple years etc while having a good job because of schooling

everyone else driving those fancy cars is financing while they work non-stop paycheck to paycheck (idiot decision but you know, peer pressure and laziness results in small vision)

there are many things you can do to get a nice car, like auction (public not dealer), craiglists etc.
but now right, get the idea of a new car out of college out of your head unless you are becoming a doctor or anything that doesn't pay below 60k
also you have to finish the schooling AND pay off the loan, if you don't have a timeline for this you already fucked up

When you see one of those cars in a parking lot wait around to talk to the owner. Ask him if it's all he thought it would be.
