I own a small bar and employ 2 people...it's absolutely insane. I have to contribute to health insurance, retirement and other assorted taxes for 3 people (myself and them), then the VAT is 9.5% for food and 22% for drinks. No matter how much business I have, the state simply eats the vast majority of it up. But all is not bad, you will do better running a business in places like Germany, Netherlands, Denmark etc or UK (correctly leaving this failed project). If you can bear shit weather, cold winters and a population that does not look European then you could do OK. Still there are problems here and there but it is doable.

If you want to live in a nice place, like at the Mediteranean, you need some pointless government job.
