Is this bait? Surely you can't be this oblivious.

> you are probably one of those guys who is spoucing "priced in", "bullish all the way" and "BRRRR".
"priced in" and "brrr" are what BEARS post when the market doesn't go the way they want and they can't understand why.

HEDGING in that you said that if your bet fails it's because money has no value. In a very real sense, that is a hedge against hyperinflation. That trade is NOT hedged against the possibility that this isn't actually the end of the USD or the market.

Actually stocks are going to dip soon tomorrow looks like it might be the day. I think tomorrow might be it. Things feel kinda desperate. There is a tsunami of earnings reports coming too and it's just going to pile on every company one after another until we re-test a low. I think this week is it...

I wonder if he ever feels bad about all the retard smolspec bears who keep trying to the big short it and getting rekted, as in:

It is, and the benefits are great too, but there's no way up nor sideways, you have to become a manager or stay there forever. You are also treated like absolute shit, which, to me, was not worth the money.
Then again I was at m$r (and personally knew people at google, amazon and fb, the guys at fb were the only happy ones but that worsened over time), so maybe the situation is better at startups and small companies.
As >>18465336 says, web dev is a pretty solid path right now. Nobody cares about degrees and you can be paid a ton just messing around with wordpress shit. Graphic design is similar if you know how to game the system properly. I know 2 people who did that, one is filthy rich (but also a top-tier self-taught artist), the other is working only 10 hours a week and still making really good money (hint: he bills 40 hours' worth of work).

Only one of these is true in my experience (either you get paid not-enough or you work with pajeets) but of course if you go work for an outsourcing or consulting company (especially IT but true for software anything as well) you will encounter the worst of both worlds.
>And no "language" would ever put you in high demand, lmao.
Correct
>It's a matter of competence and actually being able to design computer systems
Completely and utterly wrong.
>not that anyone can honestly convey that in an interview.
This basically already contradicts the above, but that's also not very accurate. The real problem is that people go through the interview based on how well they woo people, not how good they do in the technical part of the interview (which is usually just about muh leetcode and the real job is 1/10000th as demanding despite how simple those questions are). This both means that in practice, a technical person has no problem knowing from the interview if someone is going to make it or not, but also that the technical person's opinion never matters.
Moreover, a significant fraction of hires are not hired through the interview process at all in the first place, but instead through nepotism of some kind.

And consider the situation when you’re absolutely sure that something wonderful is about to happen to Sure Thing, Inc., and the good news will send the stock price higher. Maybe you’ve discovered a Tagamet, a cancer cure, a surge in earnings, or one of the many other positive fundamental signs you’ve learned to look for. You’ve found the perfect company, the nearest thing to a royal flush you’ll ever encounter.

You check your assets, and there’s only $3,000 in your savings account. The rest is invested in mutual funds that The Person Who Understands the Serious Business of Money won’t let you touch. You comb the house looking for heirlooms to take to the pawn shop, but the mink coat is riddled with moth holes. The silver flatware is a possibility, but since you’re having a dinner party over the weekend, the spouse is certain to notice it’s missing. Perhaps you could sell the cat, but it doesn’t have a pedigree. The wooden sloop leaks, and nobody would pay for rusty golf clubs with bad grips.

So the $3,000 is all you can come up with to invest in Sure Thing. It will only get you 150 shares at $20 a share. Just as you’ve resigned yourself to settling for that, you remember having heard about the remarkable leverage of options. You talk to your broker, who confirms that the April $20 call option in Sure Thing, now selling for $1, may be worth $15 if the stock goes to $35. A $3,000 investment here would give you a $45,000 payoff.

So you buy the options, and every day you open the paper, anxiously awaiting the moment the stock begins to rise. By mid-March there’s still no movement, and the options you bought for $3,000 already have lost half their value. You’re tempted to sell and get some of your money back, but you hold on because there’s still a month to go before they expire worthless. A month later, that is exactly what happens.

Why aren't you working front office fintech if you like finance and tech?
Though I don't think any financial institution will consider you if you're not a straight-A student with a strong tech background, they tend to be extremely competitive and cutthroat.
There are some attempts at using data science for finance but nothing too good so far, except on auxiliary tasks like sentiment analysis. That said, if some firm had a working ds-based solution they wouldn't tell anyone until they change it for something better, understandably. There are ds/ml jobs in fintech but I don't know what that resembles.
You can always go full-tard academia and learn ds for stock market or some shit.

With regard to webdev + finance, that's pretty easy and straightforward to see: be it stocktwit or finviz, you can do anything from running a business out of such an idea to contracting to financial institutions to build their web stack. The first step is to build a portfolio though. Minimum 3 sites, 5 is better, is a good bet.

That way if it reaches your price you would have bought anyway and if it doesn't you get free money from bobo paypigs. At expiration, do it again until eventually you get your shares. >It's a matter of competence and actually being able to design computer systems
>Completely and utterly wrong.
What I'm saying is that's what you need to actually get promotions and bonuses, and it's only demonstrable after you get the job. And yes, you cannot demonstrate that in any interview. Interviews are a joke and incompetent retards literally spend forever memorizing algorithms they could never have created themselves in the hope they will impress the retarded interviewer. The most impressive interviewers I've had focused on discussing projects I worked on instead of "spit out this algorithm that no one would ever even make in 20 minutes", but they were rare high level people whereas most companies put their retards on interview duty, which is understandable because no interview process keeps the retards out anyway.

What you need is good skills in dick sucking, and NOT being good. Being good makes your manager feel "threatened" which is a great way to get canned long before you're up for promotion and bonuses. You must be meek, you must do the work but be just short of being on-time every time. You must fuck up every so often. You must never, EVER, go above expectations under any circumstances, and when you hit 90% of expectations or so, you MUST mess up. Any performance better than that is a recipe for getting fucked.
Dick sucking, on the other hand, will get even the most incompetent joke of a pajeet up to local VP in no time.

>Being good makes your manager feel "threatened" which is a great way to get canned long before you're up for promotion and bonuses
lmao. If you're really good, the guy two levels above you notices. That's always how it works, unless you are just working for complete idiots in which case you need to go elsewhere. Note that I'm talking about a tech track to principle engineer, etc. not whatever other bullshit.

t. never worked in your life.
I was doing good enough that the org we were meant to collaborate with, which was doing its best to kill us (confirmed before, during and after, both by upstairs and ourselves), went out of its way to send our team an email to personally congratulate me as I increased the kpi we were in charge of by an amount never before seen. All this on a project that was supposed to be temporary before I go back to the job I was actually hired for.
If you had ever worked you'd know that the only contact between 2 levels up and you is through your manager via a quaterly performance report, which the manager can cook however much he likes.
Speaking of my manager, here's how he got his position. Some other dude, who was actually competent, was meant to be promoted. The day of the promotion, while the ceremony was going on, he went into the local boss's office and mysteriously, while the guy who was meant for promotion was about to be promoted, the boss barged in and interrupted to announce he's getting promoted.
Said boss was the very image of incompetence and never lifted a finger. Due to the magical open office, we could all see he was on facebook 24/7.
The episode listed above, before you start spinning more imaginary tales in your head, came on the heels of one of the works I did having been registered for a patent application on m$ dime (got a $2000 bonus for it). I was THAT good.

95% chance I've developed products you are using to post here (ever heard of intel, qualcomm?).
First level managers are typically idiots, and you always get promotions and big bonuses by doing work remarkable enough that it catches the attention of the guy two levels above you. That's office dynamics 101.

Thank god I'm a govt employee. I can't be fired at all unless I actually fuck up bad (Show up drunk/high,cheat on time,or threaten someone is basically the only things that can get you fired). You can be the most incompetent fool ever but long as you show up on time and whatnot your safe. For 27 years, then retirement time can be yours if you want it.

If you've ever been on the microsoft website, or macy's, or if you plan on getting a bmw past 2021, you've made extensive use of what I've worked on. The fact you think anyone in the management stack is even remotely competent says more about yourself than anyone else.
