If you're a landlord worried about tenants not paying rent, here's some advice: just rely on your savings. Tap into that rainy day fund. Borrow money off your parents. Sell your iPhone. You really should have planned ahead for something like this.

It's not too late to go back to school to learn a trade, either. Apply yourself. Print some resumes and hand them out.

Well to be fair, would be a non-issue if you could kick the tenants out. But once courts reopen, it'll be a bloodbath if landlords collecting back rent.

Mortgages are being halted right now in most parts of the world. But utility bills are still accumulating. Are you to say that it is the landlords obligation to pay for your bad habits despite what the contract says?

Real estate is such a stupid investment. It s just as unpredictable as the market and requires far more work on your part. You don’t have instant liquidity and you have to deal with tenants/broken appliances/utilities. You can’t protect your investment with derivatives. leverage is better used elsewhere. When I was a kid growing up, and I would see the occasional kid who was spoiled af, handed everything, and threw tantrums with their parents, I always wondered how the hell that person would grow up.

And after a few weeks of constant spamming I have my answer. Throwing a bitch fit about not being able to pay their rent 1 month ahead of time and calling for the death of landlords and violent revolution of society due to that fact. The only thing I agree with is that we need Gulags and you all need a one way ticket there, you're just fundamentally broken people. Your parents fucked up and now you're a fuck up.

Would you blame a ball for rolling? There's ways that would have prevented such bad parenting and spoilt entitled children but the same system that allows you, allows them. Also, it's hard for you not to see yourself as somewhat exploitative. At the end of the day, they have to work for your meal while you can focus on other things. Some have legitimate concerns.

I think here in the civilised Netherlands we have housing corporations to prevent faggots like you from duking it out with your fairy tenants.

This system isn't exploitative. Stop listening to them. Ironically enough, the areas with the most "tenant protections" are the areas where they get ass reamed by sky high rents, and they can't be bothered to like... vote for someone else, or move anywhere else in the country where rent is perfectly reasonable and available. They are the definition of NPCs, slaves to their situation because they never learned how to make their own fortune.

Perhaps they never got the opportunity.
Suppose you are already disadvantaged from your socioeconomic background and try to do well academically. If you find a part-time job, you'll only threaten your academic progress. If you go full-time or learn a trade, you've surrendered to circumstance. (which is exploitative), and you don't even have time to think about forex, let alone acquire enough capital to get to work with it.

To say that this system isn't exploitative is to shut your eyes and ears and run screaming into the void.

UBI would unironically solve most of the problems i've mentioned by giving people a choice of what to do.Then they could increase their capital, which is also in your interest since they'd be able to pay whatever you asked them to and taxes would lower as they acquired more and more capital.
The fundamental consideration is not moral (since you are already immoral) but financial.

Landlording is an exercise in learning just how shitty people are and how far they'll take advantage of you if you give them an inch. The moment you start deferring payment it's always "the next month" or "I'll pay you back" or "here's a partial payment" and before you know it shit has backed up, it's been months, and now they're thinking of bolting. The eviction process takes months itself. It's kind of like getting burned badly by an ex, it only happens once and then you realize how people are.

Both of these are true. The landlord should be responsible, and have an emergency fund for this exact type of situation.
But he doesn't.
And so the landlord is in trouble.

Here's the thing tho, the tenant should also have an emergency fund.

Actually, the tenant wouldn't have been laid off if the company he worked at also had an emergency fund.

Massive companies on the stock exchange wouldn't need bailing out of they had just had an emergency fund too.

Guess who is the winner here? The banks.
Look at how on all levels, we are just bitches to the bank.
