a mild stoic approach to our times has helped me. Don't be autistic about it though, more like just accepting we will never experience the golden ages, but there are still good times to be had. It's not impossible to raise a family, just harder now. The main variable is finding a good woman that will stick around through the bad times.

I live in a 3rd world country. Despite having a job where I'm earning decently while learning quite a bit about the inner workings of the corporate. I don't want slave away my late twenties and the rest of my life into some 9-5 office job and I want to live in comfort and be able to travel. Fortunately, I'm making quite a bit of progress with trading.

In a normal society you'd work with your family to improve the general wealth of the family so that the kids are better off. The family is destroyed, homes are impossible to afford for almost everyone and the subsequent debt slavery keeps everyone in constant poverty and competition with each other, while high taxes punish saving.

its not about the worldly things bringing happiness for me. having a homestead isnt about vanity its about security, by living in a world where the base level requirements (food shelter etc) are constantly taxed, essentially never achieved, it creates an impediment to more profound and important growth personally and socially. its the undertow
