Let's talk highly speculative economics. Let's say that the rest of the world decides that China fucked up badly enough to punish but doesn't want to risk the potential conflict. Instead, they start forcing manufacturers out of China...who stands to benefit most from this?
There's no other nation with China's sheer size, after all, unless you count India. But most of the population of India is still fundamentally trapped in the 1800s and they lack the strong central government that China has. So who wins?
We're gonna discard the idea of a war even though it's probably inevitable should China start collapsing. Can't really predict conflict, after all, as who knows what the militaries of the world have hidden in terms of capabilities. We're talking as if everything goes relatively peacefully.

Putting more jobs back in their own countries (ourselves included) can only be good in the long run. China imports and exports shit from every level of the value chain now. Americans just don’t know it yet. It’s a US delusion that people will try to punish China, instead everyone will turn the money printers on and do anything they can to get jobs in their country, and China is a red herring to distract the plebs while giant companies buy up absolutely every corner of the real economy. There is no collapse coming in China, in fact they are in the best position here because they completely controlled the outbreak and they’ll be able to exploit this crisis.

Pretty sure the American healthcare system got scared shitless about this. "Nothing burger or not" they got completely blindsided by a pandemic they thought they could handle for ages.
The only somewhat likely possibility is that pharma and/or healthcare equipment manufacturing becomes a "strategic asset" and thus sourced in the United States.
I don't see any long term effects for China though. The western robot is replacing manufacturing and countries will still always want China as a market.
Oil wise, I think the corpses of neocons is going to push for securing Venezuelan reserves by installing our own government if we must. This seems to be our "plan b" against pumping from SA and Russia.

We are reaching the "return to normal". People are becoming desensitized to the deaths, the endless news cycle, unemployment. The "peak" will come within a month, as early as next week. Soon people will realize they can't just go back, they still have to pay rent/mortgage and credit cards. Debt is already stacking up. People will stop having access to credit. Jobs will not just come back. The banks will record record profits this week, might even hit SPY 300. But after that? Theres nothing left but the abyss. Its only a matter of how fast we decide to fall.

OPEC+ completed their deal after hours. Check the news. Updated CNBC article has one tasty bit of information that is critical to Monday's chances for pump:
>The agreement was not contingent on nations outside of OPEC+ curbing production.
That's important. The really sticky point to this meeting was about whether non-OPEC and allied + countries would go along, and whether OPEC+ would go through with their cuts if others (like the US) didn't.

manufacturing is already getting out of China, but not because of corona. China raised the minimum wage a few years back and they're poised to do it again as they're trying to not get caught in a middle-income trap.
like other anons said, Vietnam and other SE nations will be benefited from the shift in global manufacturing, but competitive companies that gain access to the Chinese market in the following years will be even more benefited.

the million dollar question is how many of those unemployed were just suspended from their workplace. This whole thing is mandatory so is the unemployment further fudging the real numbers of jobs lost the fact that the fed has over inflated the economy should be troubling enough but I think that was the whole goal to begin with. I don't think people will realize the damage done for a couple of months to come. The idea of a total recovery within this month is absurd but people are hyping it up to where it seems plausible enough which to me is a bearish signal but with fed fuckery its really hard to say since they've turned this market on its head.
