can someone tell me why New York real estate stocks are going up right now? Isn't New York still on lockdown?

I was down about $100 last week because they were hitting lows and now they're bouncing back this week and I'm up $50-60 each on two of my investments

there has to be another dump coming friday or monday right? should I sell?

>Why didn't anyone tell me selling covered calls weekly was so comfy? Bull bro comes to my house on Monday, delivers my tasty preemies. Bull bro is left staring at the magic green line all week of for a whole month praying it goes up lots, which I fucking hate doing. If bull bro wins He buys my stock at a profit for me. He will also usually do this early, freeing me up to do it all again and get more preemies. Jesus this is great for me, it removes so much stress. I don't care about mooning stocks, I'd rather just be the guy who sells the tickets. Will I ever hit it big this way? Probably not, but once in awhile I use bull bros funds to buy me crazy cheapos like WTI or USO or cruise ships. Is this the fastest way to diversify your portfolio on silly billy corona cheapies?

Unironically yes. Everyone knew that there are more "shadow layoffs". Mangers not scheduling people, people telling their landscaper to not come because now they have time to mow the lawn, illegals finally getting the shaft the deserve, any contractor who had a laid off client, etc, etc. I would say take the reported unemployment filings and add an 15-20% shadow layoff of it's number. That's a low estimate. Not to mention people who arent fulltime, and cant apply for it.

does it matter? the stock market is a game of risk management, and they lost. never forget that. it's not about 1 trade it's about how you do over 100+ trades with consideration for whatever your risk to reward ratio is. literally every single time you enter a trade, you HAVE to have a point at which you cut your losses, usually determined via a stop loss. if you don't, you end up like ronin capital apparently.

something you have to understand in all this: debt doesn't matter. the FED can print infinite money. all that matters is the virus and whether or not people can actually go back to work. that's literally the single thing that matters. i repeat THAT'S THE LITERAL ONE SINGLE THING THAT MATTERS NOTHING ELSE.

get back in the fucking cage, wagie. everything else can be fixed with brrrrrr. remember that. remember that for the rest of your life, that's how important this fact is. remember it. no seriously, remember it. if this was just another 2008 this would be over in a week, not even.

People are misunderstanding what this rally is.
This rally is because of people starting to think that the coronavirus isn't that bad. The original thought process was up to a 5% casualty rate and hundreds of millions if not billions infected. Instead, it's starting to look like no more than a hundred to two hundred infected with a casualty rate similar to the flu. And, more importantly, it really does seem to be killing only the old and sick for the most part.
That last part is probably why the rally is so strong, actually. Think about it, old and sick people don't contribute much at the end of the day. Their deaths will decrease pension pressures on multiple businesses and free housing for younger and more consumption hungry people.
Whether all of this will come true is another matter, of course. I have no idea if it will and I suspect people have a bit too rosy a picture of all that's going on. But who knows, I'm hardly a genius economists. Maybe things really aren't that bad.

they basically can, whether you like the idea of that or not. the issue is that people literally can't run the machines because of coronavirus. ask yourself if all of this would be happening in any situation where people aren't more or less locked in their homes? specifically told not to go to work if they aren't essential?

think about if this was any situation where people could still run the machines. that's all the elite need us for, and we currently can't do that, that's why we're in a "crisis" right now.

im gonna be real honest with you here. i feel like they have the smartest people in the world on their payroll, and they have a vested interest in seeing things return to normal. they don't care if some boomers die, as long as (((((the elite))))) don't die. they just need the machines to be run, at not too high of a cost to cause mass panic (which would cause people to stop running the machines), but below that threshold they don't give a fuck.

they can print as much money as they want in the mean time and no one can stop them. unironically, seroiusly unironically, if the FED printed 5 quadrillion dollars, do you think anything would happen negatively? seriously, would it? no really i mean it seriously if they printed a quadrillion dollars do you think a single fucking thing would happen, mass riots and shit? no. all that matters is whether or not the unclean masses can return to running the machines. remember that. remember that. i cannot stress enough that this is the Truth of the world that you need to realize by the time you're 30 or younger. this is literally how the world operates, and you should make financial decisions for the rest of your life with this in consideration.

we're a technologically advanced civilization and the powers that be can put the full force of that behind solving this mess. if society collapses, all of their power and money is worthless, so it's commons sense that if you were in their shoes you would want to see things return to normal and do everything in your power to see that occur in a timely manner.

i agree. the sad part is that there is a lot of suffering caused to individuals out there as a result, suffering of the ignorant masses. but what can you do? my hope is that i one day make enough money to become a philanthropists and give back most of my fortune through charitable acts. that's the best i can think of. i'd never dream of trying to actually change the overall structure of things. surely even if you killed the elite, other people would just take their places, it's too coveted a position to be in in this world.

Literal mafia (the actual organized crime group) and canadian mayors have been known for decades to share money one way or the other to spruce up the real estate business.

Hey guys, I'm going to return to university to start studying data science this year. I'm also somewhat interested in trading, what is the best way to learn about stocks? I'm open to taking online courses and will check out the khan academy course in the link. Could go to zero but the science is strong and a positive result means a moonshot, risks with COVID fucking with testing though. The key is risk management, you can't be like SNSSfag or LCIguy, these are vehicles for trading, not companies you fall in love with. That is how you get fucked. The hedges aren't buying the rally. They know things are going to be worse. But eventually, if people are stubborn enough to not bail on the market even though dividends and returns are shit, the market might somehow stabilize on a bubble that never gets popped until the economy actually recovers. Also I'm betting most algorithm traders have shut off because the market doesn't follow normal patterns anymore. Small investors can still right the bubble safely at least since they aren't going to pop anything.
