That's why you buy pipelines. LNG isn't going anywhere and their storage services collect fees while theres a glut.

Why are they down so much in the big sell off? Shouldn't they have boomed then or was it just general investor panic?

>> No.18298057

Everyone is selling oil because Russia will keep fucking pumping even when it costs more to store it then it is priced at.

Everyone is scared about traded oil instruments. Think about it if the proce goes to 0$ and you bought all the oil for 0$ then the price went up the system would break. These financial instruments were not made to account for a negative oil price they will break.

Litteraly Y2K oil speculators style except this time real.

Nobody will actually let oil go to $0 dollars though. They all saber rattle at the notion but nobody is willing to lose out on those profits. It will only happen when there is actually no use for oil anymore.

some oil is already $5 like Western canadian select

>> No.18298260

Brent and OPEC basket will never get to $0. Off beat oil markets that no one cares about like Alberta oil could go absolutely bust, but the major oil markers will never reach that low. Governments are already so far in debt. They are pretending they will subsidize oil for years to come but they know they can't.

What difference does it make? You would have to pay taxes either way. There is 99% chance the country you reside in has a treaty to avoid double taxation.
