Globally most politicians failed to recognize the threat and most communities are not plugged in to news nor care about what happens in China. I blame the politicians. Not everyone is high IQ or can discern important information. That’s why we have community leaders and hire them and pay them. Yet they all failed us.

To get the position, you need to be charismatic to garner the popularity of votes to win, not necessarily have foresight. It'll be impossible to look the leaders for this because the skills they need to get to the position don't align with the skills needed to handle this threat.
