Seriously, sars covid 19 is not a serious threat. Barely anyone under 60 dies from it. Even over 60 you need to have cronic health problems for it to pose any real threat to you. Its really just media hysteria. If anything they should just isolate the old until this passes, but this is really not worth ruining everyones livelihood over. Why is this even happening anons? Closing everything down and isolating everything over a sub 1% kill rate virus? This makes no sense.

Barely anyone over 60 dies in Europe and Asia. In America, land of the shart, 70% of people would be considered clinically obese in Europe. Obesity is one of the worst comorbidities to have with this virus. It's repeated again and again on the news here.

I fear for the safety of american lardies.

The fact that there's pretty much unilateral support for systematic panic around the virus is a tip off that there's a deeper purpose here than the surface intentions of agenda setters and elites. What that purpose is IDK, but I know it's not to save lives or control the spread of muh virus.

I dont understand because the richest lose a lot rn too. Imagine owning a huge chunk of dow companies or a lot of real estate, both of those will decrease in value. Your liquid assets will be eaten by hyperinflation, only going to retain some of it if you have store of value like gold. Even then only maybe. so basically to introduce a worldwide currency they are ruining their own interests? makes no sense still. dollar pretty much funtioned like this in practice, of which they have unlimited. if they really wanted to introduce a world currency, it would be cheaper and easier by proposing a monteray union, like the EU did. All they had to do is pull some strings and give out some bribes. Maybe promising benefits to the countries who cooperate. Just like the EU. There was absolutely no need for virus hysteria and shutting everything down.

2. The ruling class consists of retards and had to bend the knee because they have no understanding of the medical science.

4. With an aging population in the west, both political parties were afraid they would lose voters and reacted in a knee-jerk manner

>Why are we ruining the ecinomy over this nothingburger?
1) There's a lot of people in this country (speaking about USA)
2) Our healthcare system works on margins of "barely enough" like any other efficient industry. Forecasts and predictions of volume of patients, recources available, capacity. We're talking within 1%-2% tolerances.
3) Any "new" illness, particularly one that everybody is potentially vulnerable to, quickly and completely overwhelms our healthcare system.
Even if only a small percentage of the population require hospitalization for this, that's still a huge number of people. That means we don't have the capacity to handle all the other sick people, either.

What's going to happen is instead of hearing people say "my dumb brother had a heart attack, then he had bypass surgery and now he can't take the stairs" people will say "my brother had a heart attack and died"
Instead of "my friend was in a bad accident, now he has a limp" it'll be "my friend was in a bad accident and died"

We rely on our healthcare system for more than just covid patients. For more than just old and fat people. A widespread outbreak is something we're entirely unprepared for.

That's why we're staying at home.

I don't believe it was planned. I'm not swearing about China thoough. The western countries just took advantage of the opportunity. They also acted in a retarded way because institutions they were responsible of informing them fed their fears. Even the US bent the knee at the WHO without doubting or calling out their incompetence or corruption but the damage was already done by the media. China is more likely to have planned something like this because they have proved that they will not hesitate to undermine countries to get ahead in the competition. I was watching Pompeo's talk yesterday and he was saying things about chinea interfering with the us at the state, and even local level. I'm not a tinfoil hat retard but I find it very convenient how this shit broke out during the trade war between China and the US. Also the chinese gov't wouldn't give a shit about 10m deaths whereas in Europe this number is enough for civil unrest Also numbers are updated every day hence nobosy has the time to double check or even question the numbers. We're already two weeks in lockdown in many countries and no official dares to questions how many die WITH corona and how many because OF corona.
tl;dr If anyone planned it, China is more likely to do. The west just played along

A lot of people from all different agendas want to change the system in major ways so are willing to board whatever bandwagon to tear down the current system and make it possible for something new to replace it.
The daily news cycle loves things that play out over the short term and things in the news get the NPCs to demand political action without looking at the big picture. A hundred years ago there were a lot of news stories about snake oil salesmen selling supposed cures for various ailments. Occasionally one of these cures would kill some kids and make the news. The politicians then demanded more and more regulation so that new drugs now take forever to come to market (meanwhile people die because they aren't allowed to buy the new drug that will cure them).
So now, temporarily overcrowded hospitals are making the news. Even if the overall danger isn't low it makes the news and NPCs demand action. The only action is to shut down the economy and destroy the current economic system. Many want this and so it was done. Gavin Newsom was quick to shut down California. This was a no-lose decision for him. Tearing down the current system is exactly what he wants anyway, and he also gets to look like a hero for preventing the virus from over-crowding hospitals. Things like this are playing out everywhere.

1,5%. Maybe in the elderly population as I said. There are about 40 million people in the over 60 age bracket. If we asssume the 1,5% ratio is correct, thats 600 000 dead. You have to consider the fact that hospitalized death rate is lower, and it's expected that only 60% of the population that is expected to get it. So in a year we should calculate that around 400 000 elderly people would die, if we calculate with the non-hospitalized rate for simplicity sake, who also had other health conditions/would have otherwise expired. Thats ~1100 deaths a day. In the rest of the population it's around 0,2% or possibly less, so round the 1100 up to 1500. Its way less scary than you make it sound.

I have seen the graphs and I can dismiss your citations just as easily as you dismiss China's number for the same reasons. You will probably refer to the deaths per capita charts that are already doing the rounds all over the internet. I don't deny the number of deaths so far but I am still waiting on how many of those people died WITH the virus and how many BECAUSE of the virus. There is also the legit argument that the number of infections is underreported because there are not enough test kits to go around, therefore reducing the overall fatality rate. I have yet to see one of these fags who post these graphs all over give me a valid counter argument to these claims instead of namecalling.

You should, really. Look at iceland data, which has highest tested/million. IFR at 0.2%, so pretty much just a bad flu.
But i'm laffing as the west becomes an hero due to flu, which is likely to be seasonal just like the rest of coronaviruses. Also laffing the lockdowns which leave people getting exposed to much higher viral loads, directly linked to more severe symptoms. There's literally nothing good about the lockdowns when it comes to controlling the pandemic. You get more people needing hospitalization due to higher viral loads they take when they're confined in their basements, you butcher the economy and you still won't prevent anyone dying, just postpone it by months at best.

Yeah Italy is a fun thing to play with. If you apply Iceland data to Lombardy, you get that around 50% of the population is/was infected. Another funny thing is, by 13th of March, there were 2 deaths without comorbidities (they stopped publishing the actual findings after that, people could find it and then wouldn't panic). And when you look at global air pollution map, connect it with the fact that coronaviruses most commonly affect respiratory system and even the more common ones cause respiratory problems, add a little bit of that very mild flu season in Italy, you get a bingo. Really activates your almonds.

Exactly. Why bother trying to interpreting the data yourself when you have the media conveniently do that for them? NPCs want to be spoonfed and then act like they are authorities on the matter because some retards on tv said so, And it validates their fragile worldview when the gov't comes up with measures that look like they are protecting them. Literally 99% of death were old AND pre existing conditions.
Also 998/1000 person in Italy are not infected.

Yes it's serious for old people, but that shit giving nightmares to teens and healthy adults, paranoid at every cough or small headache is weird.

Maybe its because like 70% of America is obese and if that significant amount of our population is either dead or racking up another preexisting condition from the lung damage that it'll do more damage to our economy than opening it up for the retards to gamble on, plus likely lead to actual legitimate calls for socialized healthcare once all the lardasses start keeling over. Smart money plays the game while thinking several steps ahead instead of crying about problems that exist in the moment. Take the time to remember that now and then and maybe you wouldnt be a poor piece of shit that actually needs the economy to open back up.

>This makes no sense.

A more infectious fucking SARS is on the loose and this time we weren't so lucky to contain it and wipe it out.

We don't know enough about SARS-CoV-2 to play it down. The original SARS-CoV had antibody dependent enhancement (go look up the medical papers), which means there is no permanent immunity and you could get reinfected, except it would get deadlier with each reinfection due to cytokine storms. That's also the reason why there's still no vaccine against it 17 years later. To stop it, you need herd immunity - but what if there can't be a herd immunity?

If SARS-CoV-2 has ADE or develops it via mutations, then humanity is very much fucked. But even if it doesn't, we don't know enough about its long-term effects even if you survive. What if it causes serious lung damage or male sterility?

As much as shutting down everybody's economy sucks, SARS-CoV-2 should not be taken likely. If you had done your research, you wouldn't call it a nothingburger like a fucking moron.

Man, flat earth was funny at first, but its 2020 already. Freemasons are most likely just some old boomer homos, who like having gay buttsex as "rituals". Other than that, their power is marginal currently. You might get some business opportunities if you join, but globalism if an entirely different beast, from a different source. Most of the masons historically were extremely right wing, would have never supported modern day globalism. I dont see how that would changed.

You will also avoid explaining this chart about pneumonia deaths being reduced and how the media and shills avoid the topic about how many of these deaths are attributed to corona. Not once yet have I seen one from your side giving figures about how many die FROM the virus and how many WITH it.
And don't play dumb about China's numbers when you post graphs from ngo's endorsed by foundations like the one i posted earlier. You did not counter argue. You started calling names.

Not only possible, but higly probable. There are two resons behind. They are either ideologically wired to follow what the herd does, which makes them useful idiots. The second is whether there is a way to profit from this. Whenever there is a happening no matter its scale, first thing I do, is ask myself: Who benefits? In the case of academics, grants are the carrot for them do do the bidding of whoever endorses their department/research etc.

I wish people on /bid/ actually followed economic news...we've had out cocks balls deep into a recession for like t years now and we're edging our load. Every economist and their grandmother was saying we were going to crash and burn hard and that infinite QE wasn't sustainable. Corona-chan isn't the cause of the crash, she's the scapegoat to prevent another Occupy Wallstreet. All the fat cats got out of their positions in Jan and collectively realized they could safely push the blame on something "outside of our control" while laughing at how bad they fucked everyone over and got away with it.

Don't fall for their scam, OP. More people need to know what happened here, because if we don't fix it this time we're going to have this shit happen again in 10 more years. These fuckfsces aren't going to stop ruining the economy for personal gain until we actually hold them accountable.

There, fed just lost its power. Funny money only has value because it's the only way we can pay debts. If we don't pay those debts, the value is 0 no matter how much they print. Then we can hopefully make our own Reich Notes backed by labor, but I don't expect the masses to be smart enough to go through with this plan.

it's a feedback loop
Trump and Boris tried to be hands-off about it and the media went after them causing everyone who follows the media to do the same
if the virus spreads and you did something people won't blame you, but if you just let it happen suddenly every illness and death is "your fault"
the majority of people aren't smart enough or interested enough to think about it more deeply, especially the majority of people who actually vote in elections

so the media gets hysterical, causing some of the public to get hysterical and make demands, causing politicians to give in and legitimize the hysteria, causing more panic
that's democracy, the mass media state
