What did she mean by this?

Idk what that has to do with its halving but literally nobody actually uses bch to the point it sometimes take ages before a new block is formed from how infrequently transactions happen on its chain

strange cause I use BCH all the time.
The only coin im not using is BTC.
Unless you count hodling on exchange as using

She doesn't understand Bcash has ultra fast difficulty adjustment algorithm. So it won't choke due to hashrate migration caused by rapid reward drop. Even Bitcoin which price dropped rapidly only had something like 13-14 minute blocks for days? Due to this difficulty era lasted ~2 days longer than it should. Hashrate death spiral scenario doesn't really happen but a slowdown might when Bitcoin halves. As for Bcash its hash rate is tiny compared to the entire sha-256 hashrate across several coins so if somebody with lots of money and machines cared enough to attack it and kill it, they could do it before anyway.

Kek the market doesn’t care what you do. Once the halving happens it’s going to be even less worth it to mine this questionable coin which so far has one of the worst returns on investment since it’s launch price in crypto

BCH has dynamic difficulty adjustment. It doesn't take months like BTC.

dunno for a while bch had meaningful innovative development then they went full retard on the dev tax. i wanted to buy the dip but i won't touch it now.

Have you seen the post from that Zhouer miner guy? He started by literally proposing they will implement a tax without any debate (because debates are lengthy and useless) and supported his reasoning by claiming just doing shit without talking too much about it worked in commieland so why shouldn't it work here? Then they proposed a cartel of miners will orphan and starve anyone who disagrees. The drama was glorious, what a disaster.

>> No.18282332

>>18282275
i thought it was a done deal
in my opinion it makes the chain noncompetitive because of the 3 forks profitability equilibrium a tax makes bch mining perpetually trending to negative profit.

The DAA is one of the worst parts about bcash. Its why it has been getting gamed all year by hash whales. Solve like 20 blocks in 30 minutes, wait for the DAA to adjust way up, then drop hash and watch the rest of the network struggle to solve a block for 4 hours. This happens non stop pretty much whenever a whale gets bored and wants something to do

>> No.18283678

>>18283569
the daa and the existence of multiple forks using the same hashing algo resulted in a lot of miners not being committed to projects on moving on profitability. i imagine miners with newer hardware are playing longer term profitability miners with old hardware are milking it to the last second and playing extremely short term.

>> No.18284028

>>18283678
No, pretty much every miner is committed to Bitcoin. The only ones that aren't are Roger and Calvin mining their scam coins. They only time any other hash hits those networks is literally just to fuck with them, otherwise those miners have overwhelmingly preferred to compete for real Bitcoin

>> No.18284069

not convinced about this at all. but i'm convinced making a minority hash shitfork from bitcoin is retarded. as it does not possess the most important qualities of bitcoin but inherits the suck.

>>18284028
You're a fucking retard. BTC is not BitCoin whether you like it or not. Difficulty will be pushed to the moon, profitability will implode, hash rate will be destroyed. The scam ponzi which offers almost zero utility will finally end. BSV (instantaneous, immutable, eventually trillions of tx/s) will take its place. BCH is also done.

Whether staoj is right or not the technology behind BTC renders it utterly useless. It is magical internet money at this point and only worth anything because of greater fools. The emperor will be exposed soon enough.

>the technology behind BTC renders it utterly useless
the technology behind btc is bitcoin it's not only revolutionary but only makes sense as it is. minority shitforks are the ones that are utterly useless to begin with because they are not at all byzantine fault tolerant.
