only through Eastern Orthodox Christianity will you be ready for the coming apocalyptic wars and plagues.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Thanks for sharing this, seems useful. Traumatic emotions are definitely 'stored' in the body until we release them. It's pretty insane what we have stored in there.

>> No.18281692

The eradication of the idea of individuality and the self is just too weird for me. Trying to ignore suffering by saying that there is no self to suffer, and instead suffering is an illusion, and so is desire, is just trying to force a solution into the problem of suffering. Buddha literally named his son a name that meant “shackles”, he was trying to say that his family and his desires and the ones he loved enslaved him. Thousands of miles away, and centuries before Buddha, in the story of Job, suffering was also the question that was begging for an answer. Job came to a very different answer to Buddha, finding the answer in God instead of destroying the concept of the self in order to stop desiring. Job also came from a wealthy background like Buddha, having tons of land and animals, but unlike Buddha all of this was stripped of him without consent. Buddha left his kingdom and his family to find the solution to suffering, but Job only left the comfort of his wealth when he himself experienced suffering like that the Buddha never experienced. Job found solace and peace in God, who is infinite, something that man is not. Buddhism teaches there is no God, yet only through God can we truly come to peace in a meaningful way. Buddhism says that we were given a debt, and either we must pay it or add onto it, and yet there is no one to pay it to. The goal of obliterating ones debts is the goal of Buddhism. It’s desolation, and not communion. In Job it is written,
“I know that You can do all things
and that no plan of Yours can be thwarted.
You asked, ‘Who is this
who conceals My counsel without knowledge?’
Surely I spoke of things I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me to know.
You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak.
I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’
My ears had heard of You,
but now my eyes have seen You.
Therefore I retract my words,
and I repent in dust and ashes.”

>> No.18281699

>>18281692
The truth is that we can’t truly pay our debts, our sin, without God. And yet, we still die, and that’s what Job taught too. Job eventually died. And so, to truly pay our debts we needed someone to take on our debts, and pay our debts for us, as we could not pay it back ourselves. Jesus came to be able to pay for our sins and be a ransom for many. Jesus drank from the cup of all man’s sin, and even death, and yet he conquered it. Jesus gives his eternal life to those who believes in Him. For Jesus is God, and sacrificed himself for us. For we cannot pay our debts ourselves for we are inherently sinful, and only God can make our hearts of stone into hearts of flesh. Only God can prune the inherent sinful nature of our hearts, and he gives the opportunity for him to do that through the cross, for the prophet Isaiah wrote hundreds of years before the crucifixion happened,
“ But He was pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on Him,
and by His wounds we are healed.”
Only God can save us, not any teaching by Buddha or any of the past teachers that died and passed away. Indeed, only God can save us, and only through Jesus Christ the Lord.
Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand.

I'm an empiricist, which is why Abramic religions are not an option for me, as they require blind faith. The teachings of the Buddha I can investigate and validate myself through meditation.

That said, I have no qualms with people who do have faith. As long as you're happy brother.

Then fap. It's that simple. It's not like smoking or something where it's an external dependency. You body naturally causes stress buildup that requires release. It's similar to having to pee. You feel so much better after the stress is gone. There is no reason to do nofap if you jerk it less than 7 times a week. The only thing you might want to do is /noporn/

There isn't any proof of rebirth. That's why real empiricists are believers of secular buddhism. There is no "you" after death, whether or not consciousness continues, it will be devoid of personality and memory.

I see samsara as simply the incomplete death of the ego within this lifetime. Once it is complete, you reach nirvana. See Ramana Maharishi or Krishnamurti.
