But the deeper answer is, in the united states at least, both the big tent parties are led by corporatists in both parties in government. The Dems leadership under Nancy Pelosi and the Republican leadership led by Mitch McConnell are both absolutely bought by special interests like Billionaires and Multi-national corporations and lobbyists for such and such. To the politicians in Washington today the purpose of politics is to maintain the rotten status Que and make themselves money. Nobody but them likes how things are since the 2008 stock-market crash.

You don't even need to go into /pol/ conspiracies about any particular groups, just replace the useless neoliberal and neoconservative shits in congress with better republicans and better democrats, most current guys there are crap.
