During the pump the week after, they ended up at $6 a day before expiration. I sold them at $1 days before because I was afraid I was never going to breakeven. When you see bull days at low volume it means the bulls have bought up all the shit the bears have sold off. The 'volume' you are looking at is the floating volume of the stock (whats being circulated right now). When bears sell, the volume is increased, so when you see a bounce like this with sudden low volume, you should understand the circulation has slowed (people have stopped selling). Also everybody is already expecting bad profits this quarter, so nobody will be shocked to see it, and it really shouldn't effect the market much. If anything we should just see health care stocks increase due to huge profit gains.

Yeah once again, I agree it's going down soon. Also I think it's more accurate to expect at most a sharp drop and recovery. This isn't the end of the world. I also really disagree that the source of this downturn will come from company earnings being missed. I think instead we will see smaller companies with lots of debt going bankrupt, and credit lines will begin to default. I think this is similar to all of our recent crises (fueled by debt), but I don't think it has anywhere near the impact that '08 had. My estimates would state the most we could expect to default in debt is nearly $6 trillion; for perspective the '08 crash involved $19 trillion.
Also we've already done more than erase the rally of last year, so you should shy up on your expectations a bit. I would be honestly suprised if the dow ever went below 15K and realistically I expect it to just bounce off 18K again. Also I think we're peaking in the crab market right now (with SPX at 2600) so I would start shorting if you can. I predicted the bounce range of the SPX between 2550-2750 a few weeks ago in a technical analysis. When we come back down, the SPX could hit 2000, but I would aim for 2350-2150 as the buy-in range. It is very likely to hit that range again, and at worst you lose a small percentage in long term gains.

Never flew the CRJ, but I'd have to say neither. Pay is dogshit on both airframes. The ERJ is high tech with a new Honeywell FMS so its much easier to transition to better paying airplanes.
