>sell shitcoin back into btc
>repeat
Anyone could get rich in 2017 but many failed to cash out and rode their gains all the way back down

put money in BTC, then when BTC tops out put SMALL parts of it into new high risk projects which get money dumped into them based on pointless speculation, then SELL that for a modest profit of 50-500%. don't get sold on a long term hold of altcoins, you can make crazy profit but you should always be trying to make BTC as that looks like it will stay the central crypto everything is pegged to, at least for now. and when the market is crashing, sell. I made a lot of money off iron hands, and I lost a lot of money off iron hands. I know what a 95% loss feels like. It's a purifying experience.

I know that's kind of a hippie mentality.
But are there any investment strategies that actually create value?

Words like wealth and value don't mean as much as you might think in the world of economics. If you mean investments which will help produce things which are of value to people or society or something, that's what profits are for. Markets care about price point averages and profit margins, not morality. There are people out there trading other people's debts to make a buck.
