fact is gold and especially silver is a shit store of value in the modern age. they simply can't keep up with inflation. it appears like they do because you don't count how much more efficient mass production became compared to manual labor. the amount of man-hours that go into a suit in 1800 and today are not comparable. probably the hundredth or thousandth.

>bought 1.25oz of gold this month

Wasn't planning to buy more gold until later this year but the fact that we're staring down the barrel of another Great Recession made me reconsider.

I don't really expect a massive increase in value, but I think the fiat currency system might not last much longer, we're already doing limitless money printing and at 0% interest I don't see what other option the central bank has left to save the current system.

What did everyone else buy since this shit kicked off?

To all you poor people going in early
Back the fuck off
every sensible investor and institution has some percent of exposure to gold. Gold is going to drop 20-30% like it has in 2000 and 2008. When the global stock market officially turns bearish (downwards 200 EMA gloabally) investors and institutions will be forced to cover bad positions with whatever gold posistion they have, they will not allow it to perform because they can't. It can take several months or a year before gold sees any improvement.

Also silver is not a precious metal its an INDUSTRIAL metal, its even taxed as one unlike gold. Industry and production is going to tank when the recession hits and silver prices will refect that, don't be an idiot.

Finally, don't buy physical (as in you store it yourself), the attraction of precious metals is that theyre the next best thing to currency when it comes to liquidity but that only applies to the exchanges. Only high integrity Good Delivery bars that come from the refinery straight into vaults are traded on the exchange, they NEVER leave the vaults because once they do they lose integrity and are not allowed to be traded on the exchange. Trying to sell precious metals outside of the exchanges is difficult and fucking expensive (6-10% spread), it gets even worse if youre trying to sell anything thats not a standard bar (excluding minted coins)

For coins its the same, stupidly high spread when compared to actual market gold. Do what you want with these I have nothing to say because I don't even consider them investments, just stay away from numismatic coins

>Don’t buy physical
If you dont hold it you dont own it, we hold this shit for two reasons. Hedge against inflation, and when all fiat currencies go to shit and worth nothing we still have currency on hand instead of having to run to a bank and hope they arent on holiday or dont have it because 100 people have the same claim on 1 oz, so the bank would do first come first serve.
>Silver is an industrial metal
Do people forget the history of silver? Spaniards would ship silver across the Atlantic to make things with it. Silver serves many purposes, people have been using it monetarily AND Industrially together for YEARS.
>Trying to sell PM’s is difficult and expensive
Expensive? I definitely wouldnt want to sell my PM’s but if I did then making it expensive is good for the seller. Difficult? Go to your local coin shop or call an online dealer.
>Do want to you want with these because I don’t consider these investments

In a Sunday letter, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) urged the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the nation’s main brokerage regulator to address the problem by telling securities firms not to escalate margin calls to “destabilizing levels.”

The MBA letter, signed by CEO Robert Broeksmit, said that when lenders issue new loans, they often simultaneously short mortgage-backed securities. This is done because the loans might fall in value before a banker can sell them to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The bet against mortgage bonds helps protect the lender if that happens, Broeksmit wrote.

“The dramatic price volatility in the market for agency mortgage-backed securities [MBS] over the past week is leading to broker-dealer margin calls on mortgage lenders’ hedge positions that are unsustainable for many such lenders.”

Now, with lenders getting crushed on these hedges, they’re facing a wave of demands from brokers that they sell holdings or put more money in their trading accounts.

“Broker-dealers’ margin calls on mortgage lenders reached staggering and unprecedented levels by the end of the past week,” Broeksmit wrote.

“The inability of a large set of responsibly-managed lenders to meet these margin calls would jeopardize the very objective of the Federal Reserve’s agency MBS purchases - the smooth functioning of both the primary and secondary mortgage markets.”

Some lenders, the letter exclaimed, may not be able to meet their margin calls in a day or two, and Barry Habib, founder of MBS Highway, a leading industry advisor who was among the first to publicly sound the alarm bell last week, warned ominously:

“This is a collapse of the system... It’s as simple as the Fed stops buying for a period of time.”

Thats how divorce settlements usually work. If they shutdown that company however then I don't know, I'm not familiar with them, but I'm guessing they only act on your behalf in the market like most brokers and your gold will just remain in Zurich until you engage a new broker because the vaults only store the bars they don't actually do the trading.

If crypto shills were so confident in their digital fiat, they wouldn't need to enter PMG threads and project. They're not trying to convince You, they subconsciously trying to convince themselves that their money is in a stable "asset" that has a future. It's basically the equivalent of Schiff's GoldMoney, offering what is called, I think, allocated gold, except a service is offered whereby your can register bars in your name to give you greater legal protection. I have enough gold and silver ounces to do that, so that is what I have done. The average person doesn't own a "bar" as such but merely an abstract number of ounces, although these do correspond, at a 1:1 ratio, to bullion in the vault.

Make sure you have proof of ownership then, vaults only keep record of whole bars not fractional ownerships in a bar, I don't know how that work but the company youre dealing with should be providing you with some kind of custody list or identification scheme so that you know exactly which bar you have a fraction in and under whos name it is in the vault.

There was a period after 2008 when it was real easy to get citizenship in tax havens for small investments in the country, presumably because less and less money was being sifted through them after the crash. I expect it to happen again with this one

>> No.18186397

>>18186316

According to their website:

"This register reconciles exactly to the official bar list published with it. The bar list is produced by the vault operator, independently of BullionVault. No other custody business in the world subjects its records to this continual, daily, public scrutiny."

https://www.bullionvault.com/help/FAQs/FAQs_whyBV.html

With regard to reserving bars:

"Ordinarily the gold, silver or platinum you own through BullionVault is not part of a specific bar. Instead, your property is held within the bulk quantity of bars stored for our users. But if you hold enough bullion in any vault to make up one or more whole standard bullion bars, then you can select bars up to your balance, and choose to have them registered against your name. Then they become "reserved bars" and are your exclusive property."

...

"All of your BullionVault gold, silver and platinum is allocated, whether or not you have a reserved bar. Allocation is the process of taking a gold-, silver- or platinum-denominated balance sheet liability - usually of a bank - and converting it into real physical metal owned outright by the buyer. BullionVault bullion is allocated when the metal is collected and shipped to our vaults.

Reserved bars offer the additional protection of a public declaration that a specific bar belongs to a specific person."

https://www.bullionvault.com/help/reserved_bars.html

The bars which I registered have names attached to them, and ID numbers. But I don't know how I'd get hold of them if BullionVault itself disappeared.

>There was a period after 2008 when it was real easy to get citizenship in tax havens for small investments in the country, presumably because less and less money was being sifted through them after the crash. I expect it to happen again with this one

Reminder:
America, at one point, mined so much gold during the California Gold rush, we had enough supply to mint a $20 gold piece when up until that point the largest gold denomination was $10.

Factor in Goyim Oppression Services that confiscate wealth to pay for NEETS and minorities and boomer social security, you can paint an accurate picture of how the hard working American got RAPED financially.

Now let's take gold and see how LITTLE you really make on a monthly basis.

Let's use the (((minimum fiat goy wage))) of $7.25
in the Communist People's Republic of California
>Monthly salary after state and federal income tax is about $1,010
>Divide by spot price of gold per ounce
>$1,010/$1,650= 0.612 Troy Ounces of Gold
>Multiply 0.612 by face value of $50 gold piece and you get $30.60
>tfw you make $30.60 a month if we were pegged to a gold standard (which is why bimetallic was first adopted to offset this disparity)
>let's get more autistic
>$30.60/4 weeks is = $7.65 per week
>$7.65 / 5 day working week is $1.53
>$1.53 / 8 hour day is $0.19
>Hence the phrase "brother, can you spare a dime"?

1 silver piece the size of a silver dime has been a days wage for most of human history.... and even is today in much of the world. When you hear of some gook rice paddy farmer making 2$ day Americans are like wtf? But that’s right in line with sane historical economic reality since that 2$ will buy you a silver dime at a coin shop. Some fat ass insurance salesman making 300$/day is making the equivalent of 15 ounces of silver a day if he converted his daily paycheck to metal. This flies in the face of all historical economic reality and just shows how badly we are getting fucked through inflation.

14 silver dimes equals 1 ounce of silver. So each ounce of silver you get you are locking up 2 weeks worth of days wages after the deflationary collapse... and it might even be 2-3x or even 5x as much since there’s much mess silver available and billions more people on the planet.

So 90 ounces is 180 Weeks which is nice. But you need to be getting more...to really be a big swinging dick and it doesn’t take much more. Just accumulate as much as possible. Fuck the premiums. Doesn’t matter if your paying 18 or 25$ just accumulate. 90 is a good start but your starting to get extra comfy with just 2-3k more into silver

300-600 ounces of silver is more than enough. People with 1-2k ounces is too much. Too much weight. And it will be too much wealth. The people who got 1-2-3k ounces of silver are idiots and think that they need that much to cover their losses in the stock market. It’s nonsense. If silver goes to 1k per coin and you have 1,000 ounces they think ok cool I have a million bucks.... which covers the million bucks in my retirement. It isn’t like they are going to go on living normally paying their mortgage and buying gas for 10$/gallon while Main Street is melting down and roving backs of niggers are gangbanging housewives in the streets.

I was just making a point with that round number. The dollar price does not matter. People say silver could hit 200$. But they are still calculating that 200$ in today’s fiat paradigm. If you have 500 ounces of silver bought at 20$. And it goes to 200$.... big ducking deal. You 10x your money and now have 100k. That’s nothing. I can buy some shitcoin and 10x my money but I’m not safe because it’s the dollar that’s dying. It really doesn’t matter if silver goes to 200$ or $1,000$ of it goes to 200$ and you have 100k that 100k will be like having 100k in 1960 or 1940 or whenever. You aren’t going to just go on living buying 10$ gallon gas while roving packs of niggers are gangbanging housewives in the streets. It’s going to be a deflationary collapse.

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered.... I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.... Bro i've orders from the 15th and they are still """processing""" it... I think the shop i ordered from got greedy and sold more silver than he really had in vault, thinking he would get delivered quickly. But then the mints shutdowns, no more distributors and basically i'm fucked in the poopoo.
I swear if they end up asking me to cancel my order, more than 2 weeks after i payed, i'll burn their fucking store and with the shop owner's family inside.

Scottsdale is directly involved in silver products for COVID-19 on top of shipments to bullion dealers around the world and you. The good news is that with the US mint shut, that is one less major customer that needs to be serviced so the private mints can concentrate on things like preexisting orders.

So im still fucked with scottsdale but other dealers are fine?

>> No.18198315

>>18198290
No, all private or public mints are fucked and operating at max capacity because of how much refining, processing, and minting capacity has shrunk for gold and silver due to the virus. Even if you ordered from Sunshine Mint, I doubt you would have any luck right now, orders are pretty much backed up and waiting if you didn't get orders in like in February, and I know for bullion dealers, if you didn't get orders in by the 2nd or 3rd of March, your wait time going out months ahead.

Does scottsdale have a reputation of canceling on people if prices jump and you go in at a low price, or any other fuckery canceling months later and all that?

This. If you know silver is going to 10x or more why wouldn't you own the absolute maximum you possibly can? Even someone on minimum wage can afford an industrial quantity of silver right now.
