What kind of saving we talking about? I've got about 5k in a HYS, 5k in an MMA, 5k in brokerage account, 10k in 401(k), 10k in Roth 401(k) and 5k in my IRA. For an income of 105k and student loan burden of 96k I'd say it's a good start. Figure I'll keep living like a broke college student since that's what I'm used to so I can get the debt paid down fast and have a nice neat egg started by the time I'm ready to start a family and buy a house in five or six years.

Kind of both.

I'm currently in Remote Australia, our average tenure rate for a teacher is roughly 9-12 months, I've been here for 5 years. My Bachelors is in Education, and I focused on Aboriginal Education during my undergraduate career.

Got my Masters in Educational leadership/Management, applied for open principal position in my community (some strings were certainly pulled), and ended up getting the position.

So a combination of being qualified, having friends in high places, and being the only one really here. I also did some other things to beef up my resume as I will explain below.

>>1818143
Yes, but it is a bit more complicated than that.

I started out as a teacher, but I always knew I wanted to be a principal. So I focused very heavily on fostering relationships with my community, and organising programs outside of school hours. For example, I ran a literacy and numeracy workshop for children, and adults, in my community. I also ran a basic coding workshop, and volunteered at a local jail.

I also did a lot of administrative stuff, even when new. I analysed educational output of classrooms (NAPLAN, results of standardised tests etc) and recommended programs/adjustments in pedagogy, mentored fellow teachers in my 3rd/4th year, got ESL qualifications.

I still teach - I'm sort of a casual teacher in a way, if one of my teachers is sick, I'll take that class for the day. Being in a remote community means we lack casual teachers on call. I know you didn't mean anything by it, but the kids are the best part of the job. I became a principal because I can now impact the lives of 200+ kids a year, rather than 20.

27, software engineer focus security, worth about 170k total.

>10k savings
>3k checking
>(1.5k) credit cards, usually higher
>86k brokerage
>24k 401k
>15k ira (rollover)
>(154k) mortgage
>190k house

Money thoughts at the moment. Gotta pay tuition over the next two months (I'm on a payment plan lol). I'm fixing up the house to sell it, so hopefully it's worth a bit more than that 190k. 4k to the contractor + materials still pending there. Then I'm moving, probably buying a new house end of summer or next fall. Gotta build up a down payment for that. Going in with the gf, 20k to 30k each will give us 10% down. 400k to 600k for the next house, depending where we go. Not sure how I feel about such an expensive house since I'm keen on FIRE. A nice location is nice though. Might be better to FIRE more slowly in a great place. I'm fully remote, she'll need to find a job when we move.

janitor team leader, not even full time.

About $500~ on the CC because I had to get my car repaired and bought some car parts.

Plus my tax return just came in, I really should change it so that I don't get such a big refund.

Sick brah.
I did a Bach of History and English with Hons inTEFL because I was a soft cunt who didn't want to move to a "Teacher's College", so I'm only two years younger than you and in a fucking shitty position (<40k).

>Could be pulling in 100k+ by now instead of grinding away for seven years at a degree I grew to hate
Maybe I'll do a Masters in Finland when I'm not in debt any more...

I set up sites which require users to refer friends before having them complete email/zip submits which make me ~$1 to $3 each. I don't have to pump traffic manually (any more) since other users generate traffic for me.
