Because anyone can still do jobs. If they are unhappy about it and want to quit theres hordes of people who would take their place right now.

Essential does not mean irreplaceable.

Or can your ass not be replaced by one of the millions of waitresses and bartenders that just got laid off?

If they demand a raise then millions of illegals will offer to do their job for less. So long as you have a large supply of low skill laborers, your low skill labor will never pay well.

No he assumes you know these industries. Which obviously you don’t because they reached the same point you idiots are at now. Your too stupid to realize that there are people waiting and happy to replace you.

Are you responding to the wrong person? Both me and the guy I responded to are saying that minimum wage workers are easily replaceable and that is why they're paid minimum wage.

Assuming of course, the "low skill" laborers don't organise.

i have a friend on NameFag who works for some kind of organization handing out needles to junkies posting about needing work because he had to take a pay cut
looks like keeping junkies in fresh needles to throw away on playgrounds isn't essential lulz

I was thinking about this the other day. So many people have lost their jobs in the past month that if any "essential workers" feel like they should be earning more, and make this feeling known, they could pretty easily get replaced by the next guy in line looking to work again.

This whole situation has actually fucked the middle/lower classes more than you can even imagine.

>>18151143
It doesn't matter if they organize. The entire organized force can be replaced with illegals or the millions who are out of work. For every 1 "essential" minimum wage worker there is more than 1 illegal.

cause they can be easily replaced with more cannon fodder

How easy is it to become such? Quite easy. What preparations are needed? Quite few. Air is important, and yet we breath it for free. Some things are valued for different reasons than simply being useful or essential. For what reason should a dolt have the same reward for his labor as one who put many hours into preparation in the form of education and/or training?

my local walshart shelves have been almost empty for the past several weeks. every time i go they have maybe a dozen stockers across the entire grocery section, working at a snail's pace. assuming the rest quit or no one wants to risk their life for $10-12/hour. it's hilarious that walshart doesn't even give them PPE. not one of them has ever worn gloves, a mask, etc.

With the exception of the healthcare and security apparatus, well... pic related. The jobs are essential but the workers are more... disposable. I'm not saying that I like it, I'm just saying that's how it is.
