> How is it free?
"People" invest your settled funds when you're not using them, just like banks.

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are shit and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using stockcharts.com, finviz, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

Now oil is technically in breakout mode, really risky to go DWT/short here but in theory it should be a really easy payoff as it retraces to ~53.xx as it's made a triple top around the 55 area now, upside risk of 55.20 and downside risk of 53s and 52s if you're lucky as a short, as long as you can go against it in the upper 54s it's a pretty good risk/reward of paying off

Fundamentally I'm really bearish on oil even with OPEC cuts short of a war, record builds and consumption is down, OPECs cuts are simply benefiting american producers who will gladly up production and take profit at 50+ USD oil and make up for any cuts that the cartel makes, still kinda boggled at why there are record speculators going long on oil. think of it like this. If there are 100 people with limited cash at an auction all bidding for 1 item, that would drive the price up pretty fast right? now what if there were 10 of that item instead? do you think each of those 10 items would end up the same price as the previous situation?

Never used a stop limit, but the way I understand it is that it's like a stop loss, but you can set a lower boundary at which the sell order triggered by the stop loss is rescinded.

Say you want to sell PTX at 3.05, but if it were to gap down to 2.80 so suddenly that you couldn't sell at 3.05, you'd want to hold long enough for it to go back up a little before selling. In this case you'd use a stop limit. RH would start trying to sell your shares when the price hit 3.05, and stop trying to sell them when the price hit 2.80.

I've never used this because I've never had a stop loss sell significantly below the stop loss price.

Deleted my bad explanation. Here's a better one:

With a market order, a share will be sold at the best price available.

With a limit order, a stock will be sold at or above the limit price.

A stop loss order will convert to a market order when the price falls below a set point.

A stop limit order will be converted to a limit order when the price falls below a set point.

I'm trying to learn how to use Quantopian, and I'm having some trouble. I know this is not strictly on-topic, but I'm hoping eventually to connect it to my Robinhood account.

In their "Getting Started" tutorial, they have an example algorithm that just puts everything in AAPL. I'm backtesting the same algorithm (if you want to call it that) with $15k for 01/23/17 - 02/23/17 with different stocks. I would expect to get charts matching the 1M charts in Robinhood, but I don't. For example, backtesting AMD shows 46.5% returns for the last month, while Robinhood shows 30.82%.

Can anyone explain what's causing this?
