Because that's how leveraged tokens work; when there's high volatilty and you're holding those leveraged coins, as the BULLcoin decreases in price in periods, the next period after the first one can decrease up to a point that the last leverage cannot be made (i.e. an underlying asset of 100US in ETH is made into a 300US in ETHBULL, and when the eth falls, in the next period it cannot cover up the ethereum lost in its leverage (there is not a 300USD in ETH underlying the 300USD IN ETHBULL; it is leveraged).

how can you literally put THOUSANDS of dollars into a financial asset at this time of economic downturn and extreme uncertainty and not know how it works, wtf????

Yeah, the leverage is really high and the volatility in these things are absolutely insane. You can literally make a 50% profit in one single day if you're lucky; imagine if you started with a capital of 100 thousand dollars and made 50 thousand dollars in a day doing absolutely nothing. Nothing can be so easy; there's no free money in this World like that, of course there have to be high risks in this and the leverage in these tokens is absolutely insane. It all feels like a gambling game at the end of the day and the crypto market when it comes to Futures and Tokens sort of reminds me of the fucked up stuff that caused the financial crisis back in 2008.

If a coin goes from 100usd to 10 usd how much percent did it go down?

How much percent does it need to go up to get back to 100$?

There is your answer.
