If it takes off like some think, ngmi. If it just flirts with ATH (~$50/toz), meh.

If you are of the opinion it will seriously moon, then you'll be missing out. The most fantastical version of this hope I've seen here was the recent calculation using pic related to take the $:Ag and assuming the Paper:Physical reverts 1:1 to give $342,204.02/toz. Seems too good to be true, but even going to the $1,954/toz would be great. I've been stacking Au/Ag for years but only as a store of value means of savings.

Dollar:Silver is based on the proportion of USD in circulation versus the physical supply of silver. If USD was pegged to silver that ratio tells you what it would be revalued at. More accurately it tells you what the purchasing power of silver would become. Paper:Silver ratio refers to silver futures contracts. The derivatives outnumber silver in such a way that it drives down the price of silver due to deflating the price per ounce. The Dollar:Silver ratio is depressed by the Paper:Silver ratio. So if the dollar was pegged to silver and it became worth 1/1,954 of 1 oz of silver, and if all derivatives were wiped out so that physical is the only price that mattered and the Paper:Silver ratio became 1:1 it would skyrocket the price of silver.

$1,954 x 175.13 = $342,204.02

Agreed it's crazy high, which is why I'm not holding my breath. I was just relaying the banter that I've seen in some PM threads lately.

The dollar value of silver doesn't matter. If it gets to the point where an ounce of silver is that high you're not going to want to sell for dollars anyway. What will you be able to buy for an ounce of silver after hyperinflation? An ounce of gold has always been compared to being able to buy a fine tailored suit. >Since when is that a good sign?
I see the point you are trying to make, but it just isn't applicable to physical gold/silver. It's a good thing that normies are panic buying.
Normies buying in shows how scarce physical precious metals are. Furthermore it also proves that not even normies believe in the paper markets since they are willing to pay hefty premiums for physical. It's no longer a tinfoil hat thing to think the paper markets are fake. This is a very significant change in sentiment.
To be fair we also had this in 2008 with a decoupling of paper and physical markets. In that case the spot prize went up 5 times within the next three years. It's fair to assume that such an increase in paper price was necessary to restore belief in the paper markets and it's probably fair to assume that a similar increase will need to happen now in order for paper markets to appear legitimate.
There is hardly any physical available, not even at 10 dollar premiums. Even the preorders are sold out. Mines are closed, mints are closed. Deliveries are being denied and people are forced to settle in cash. The truth is coming out, and social media etc. are much bigger than they were in 2008 so this time the truth is reaching a much wider audience. Change is coming.

READ THIS - RELEVANT INFORMATION

There is still lots of silver available in here Germany. The following website allows you to compare prices for various coins from different online dealers in Germany.

https://www.gold-preisvergleich.de/

The word “Preisvergleich“ translated means “price comparison”. In Germany there is a 7% sales tax for certain silver coins and 19% for silver in general while gold remains completely tax free. The demand for silver has therefore been here comparatively low. Conclusively most forms of silver are still in stock and are even available in larger quantities. Premiums have also not risen as much as in other places so that prices are still comparatively low here despite the aforementioned tax. Remember that these prices do not include shipping and some offers are only presale/preorder. Also expect shipping to take significantly longer because of the China virus.
