>The 1918 influenza pandemic occurred in multiple waves. The most current theory on exactly what happened to cause this is that the initial epidemic was an outbreak of seasonal, mild flu. The second outbreak was the highly pathogenic strain which infected an estimated 1/3 of the global population, with about a 2.5% of that 1/3 succumbing to the disease[1]. The vast majority of people who died of flu in 1918-19 were between 18-35 in the prime of their physical conditions as opposed to the usual high impact of flu on the very young and very old with preexisting conditions.

>nCoV-2019 is much different. For starters, it is not related to influenza, not even close. It does not have the ability to reassort like influenza does, and is much less prone to mutating [3]. In addition to this, we're living in the 21st century, that means established public health infrastructure, antibiotics, and massively improved hygiene and sanitation. This is all to say that 1) this virus isn't nearly as severe as influenza and 2) we have resources in place to combat it.

most were middle aged at least. If you combine the over 45s and the over 65s group in your chart they make up about the same amount as those in the 25-45 range who would be classed as middle aged. So it hit mostly middle aged or elderly. Granted, it did kill a significant amount of younger people too, but there is still the unknown factor with Corona which leaves the door open to its chances of becoming more deadly to younger people.

>The Spanish flu for instance disproportionately impacted younger people (25-45 years old)
Ok you're going round in circles now. Over 30 back then was not considered "young" since it was literally middle aged.
>About 700k Americans died of the Spanish flu, of which only 45k military personnel.
And most of those deaths were middle aged or elderly people. Way more younger people were infected which means the death % was lower for them than it was for the middle aged-elderly

Batshit crazy to think this isn't a bioweapon. All published research dating back to 2010 leads to the Wuhan's P4 lab. Elements of virus sub contracted out to US lab and lastly a Ozy P4 lab for the 4 HIV receptors.

As someone who has been doing a lot of reading (from verified, vetted scientific sources), but has only a basic science knowledge, a lot of the things it is saying seems to be supported by the actual truth though.

Covid symptoms coming in 2 waves is supported by plenty of testimonies from patient interviews (usually gets symptoms, then recovers, then gets symptoms again).

People getting reinfected is a known point of debate (some say it's faulty tests, some say it's residual virus [which is acceptable if they didn't have a negative test in between]).

And getting reinfected by a virus, not getting immunity, has precedent. SARS is known to be like this, which is supposedly why they couldn't make a vaccine for it. I myself have had dengue 3 times, and just googling it now, dengue is also an ADE type (which makes sense reading that post now).

And I already knew Covid causes cytokine storms (i.e. an immune system overreaction that can kill you) and this is what is fatal in a lot of cases. I learned this when I read some Chinese doctors were using Tocilizumab, an arthritis medication, but more importantly, an immunosuppressant, with GREAT SUCCESS, on severe cases.

I knew all this before even reading that image/post in >>18120438, so I find it scary how many things it gets right, considering how doomsdayish the outlook of the post is.

Anyone with references/proper scientific knowledge care to debunk what things it gets wrong?

People died young back then. People back then were aware of this simply because there were many people who did grow old.
People knew humans should technically live until the age of 70-80 if they weren't killed by shit like TB.

Everything I said stands, you're just looking to score a point at this stage lad. No, a disproportionate amount of young people (in their 20s) DIED of the virus.

Most cases were unreported. For the millionth time, there were a significant amount of young deaths because a much higher number of young people were exposed to it. In terms of actual cases-to-deaths ratio young people didnt fare any worse off.

Yeah, I saw those articles on Google too just now.

The original paper was supposedly released in China. They were supposedly getting a 95% success rate, although I am just going by translations of low-reliability websites like:

https://www.bodyandsoul.com.au/health/health-news/groundbreaking-coronavirus-trial-cures-95-per-cent-of-critically-ill-patients/news-story/4cc76448264a258139b0a8dcb2db43b6

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8151865/Arthritis-drug-helped-cure-95-critically-ill-coronavirus-patients-scientists-claim.html

Pic related was the first reference I saw online that I saved, supposedly a direct translation of the actual paper from China. Kept a copy on my phone just in case I ever get a severe case (or someone I know does), and the doctor is not aware of this treatment, as it contains dosage/administration details.
