The stomach of the economy is split wide open with it guts pouring out onto the floor. I work in a suburb of Dallas, and my job is still essential, so I'm still going in. There's a great pub about five minutes from my office that's closed but still doing takeout. Owner had a special where you got to choose two types of barbecue (brisket, sausage, or pulled pork), two sides, and a salad for $22.00. I wish you could have seen the amount of barbecue this guy was giving out. Several pounds, easily four or five meals if you aren't a fat ass. The look in his eyes was a knife in the heart. He's just trying to make something, anything, to help cover the cost of rent, but even with those proceeds, he's still convinced the place is going to shutter. Yes, he's still "employed," but he's on the knife's edge just like tens of millions of other people. These dumbfucks are obsessed with "money printer go brrrr" and a line on a stock chart that has absolutely no fucking bearing on reality. I seriously don't see how this doesn't end in mass violence and bloodshed.

We're looking at severe long term inflation. Wealth flows up and QE going to the big players accelerates buying power loss and minimizing of economic mobility for those on the lower rungs. I don't know if the Fed and the government doesn't actually understand this but I'm pretty sure Jerome Powell went to an Ivy League school. How you could not model the effects of QE and think it was good long term is beyond me. It only took me a few months of on and off consideration. How long has QE been going on? Do these people just wing it and say, 'oh, well we didn't die, guess it worked, time to do it again'. Like seriously.

I got laid off from my software sales job, finally got hired as a trucker after 3 months of searching and the plant is closed. Shit is real. If people aren't spending, there's no earnings.

Unless the market completely decouples from any sort of reality and fundamentals are thrown away while ETFs act as horses at the track.

I don't think a mass sell off will happen until its deemed that commodities are a safer haven for liquidity than stocks. I'd expect gold, silver, etc. to shoot up sharply before that happens.

It's amazing that people aren't talking about that more. It's hard to imagine a better Casus Belli than a biological attack of the sort (a nuke i guess).

Xi probably asked Trump for permission to spread that rumor in order to keep people obedient to the government in China, and Trump must have said it's OK. Otherwise, things would not be this calm.
