In a real collapse, the merchant usury class gets BTFO - only those with skin in the game will be able to say they "own" something.
If and when things go back to normal (ie: three months from now), landlords will be put through the courts on a mass scale. So more trouble than it's worth. Or they'll be included in bailouts from the government.
And there's another option to landlords - just pass the buck to their creditors. But doing so reveals the weakness of the landlording class' hand.
