Since the currency of my country is very unreliable, and with inflation above 50% per year, then I decided to save on an alcoholic beverage called "fernet", since it is for mass consumption, with a minimum maturity of 5 years, and apart I make money from it. I also save on sugar, but this is not updated at the same rate of inflation, but still make good money with it. Is it a good idea to save on gold, silver or copper? Who buys those things in times of crisis?

okay sweaty.. you are gonna hear a lot of misinformation from deluded preppers that believe precious metals will be the "new" currency in a mad max tier world.
i am gonna level with you, Gold is currently trading near all time high - it is a risky asset to buy in this context. Silver and Copper is primarily used in industries, manufacturing using these commodities are gonna have a limited production capacity for the next 6-9 months, while the actual production (mining) of these metals will not be hampered to the same extend.
Gold, Silver and Copper is not a good buy.
