Yeah Idena is funamentally very normie friendly. There are two roadblocks on the way to mass adoption imo and those are:
1. make the tech normie friendly i.e. mobile validation (a matter of time) + easy cashing out (big exchange like coinbase which is, again, a matter of time)
2. legit coin utility - ads don't seem so bad but since the audience is mostly untargeted (pseudonymous participants so the ad buyers can't even target by location or age, crypto interest/tech savvy would be sole targeting) so running ads will have to be cheap enough. Real utility though not impossible will be hard to achieve and will probably make the difference between the project becoming a giant or slowly dying out. No utility = no incentive for value appreciation of coin (other than speculative) = coin's value appreciation doesn't keep up with network growth and monthly rewards basically become pennies.
