1) Since PM prices have crashed, what's the best way to invest before the dollar collapses? Should I go all in with one metal or spread my investments out?

2) Do you think their current prices are as low as they'll get or do you think they'll crash even more?

3) What's the deal with silver? I've been lurking so here's what I've gathered: The price of silver bullion is held down because of futures trading, and when the dollar goes belly up Silver's relative price will go up more than gold, platinum, or palladium. Is that true?

4) If that's true, is the same true for gold or other metals?

5) What about platinum? It's also at a 15 year low, it's rarer than silver, and if/when South Africa has a civil war the price will skyrocket.

Thank you. I have some experience with PMs but I'm still pretty new.

You are way too new, do the research yourself and don't bother buying in unless you can answer all your questions on your own, otherwise you're not making a educated decision, you're just like every other normie who does what he is told to do. Even if we answered all your questions, that wouldn't help YOU. What can help you is educating yourself, not getting spoonfed BS answers that align with your unenlightened intuition so that you get a dopamine hit that motivates you to spend your money. That is no better than a normie seeing an ad for a new car on tv and being motivated to buy it.There is no philosopher's stone for surviving a "dollar collapse" as you put it. If you're so sure that's what will happen, then you must also logically know what to to do negate the loss incurred by that specific event happening.

I get the general idea - invest your money in Precious metals so I don't get fucked by hyperinflation. I'm just trying to figure out how to get the most bang for my buck and thought I'd ask the hivemind.

Things like security, cash flow, etc. in the event of economic collapse are more complex and beyond the scope of this board.

If you have 10k and want to buy silver and you are getting a 25% haircut, it won’t fucking matter because you’ll have 500 ounces of silver something like 100 ounces of silver will buy you a house.

Remember... a silver piece the size of a silver dime used to be a days wage for most of human history. So basically every 20$ silver ounce you buy right now you are locking up at least 2 weeks worth of days wages post deflationary collapse... since 14 silver dimes equals 1 ounce of silver.

You morons keep valuing silver and gold in dollars. The dollar price of gold is irrelevant.

>> No.17993584

You aren’t investing when you buy gold and silver. In fact you aren’t buying anything when you buy gold.... all you are doing is converting your wealth from worthless paper to a real store of value. Gold is simply real savings and real money. When someone goes to a coin shop to buy a gold ounce he is doing so for a completely different reason than when he buys amazon stock. Amazon increasing in price is not the same thing as gold increasing in price.

100oz of silver buys you a house in Capua 79AD because Gold was the standard of currency. I understand Silver Chads think that's what we're going back to after the collapse but I just don't see it. And to boot, Silver's utility in a post-industrial society is just too great to allow it's worth to skyrocket again.

Soldering, brazing alloys, batteries, dentistry, glass coatings, LED chips, medicine, nuclear reactors, photography, photovoltaic (or solar) energy, RFID chips, semiconductors, touch screens, water purification, wood preservatives and MANY more. It's an economy of scale no matter what system you're using, and if 100oz of Silver goes back to buying a house then you can forget about the industrial revolution

If you are new, gold and silver should be your main focus as they are more common and user friendly so to speak.Gold and silver are common household names. Platinum and palladium are a bit in uncharted territories, and not as popular. Not to go off-topic, but I personally love platinum, it's my second highest hold next to gold. The thing is that rhodium is super expensive and is more volatile than most realize. It did shoot from $5.6k to nearly $14k in a quick amount of time. But now it's back to the same. It is essentially not market friendly, and not known to most potential consoomers and investors. I hope that makes sense.
>Ill look more into palladium and platinum but im still set on silver or gold as a new stacklet

would need a whole new currency backed by metals. either bimetals like gold for saving and silver for spending, or both for saving, and a third bill backed by copper for spending. right now money isn't backed by anything, so the fed can make more of it and give it away for free to bankers, who then spend it on various whores.

since the fiat isn't backed by anything, people who do hard jobs are less wasteful with their money because they know how much time and energy it took for them to make that money. think people working back-breaking labor jobs. and then on the otherside, there's women who just have to look cute on camera and do a little dance, those whores get paid $1000 per day. so clearly there is an imbalance going on.

Gold packs more value for the same weight and space.
Remember you are on the 4chins before following advice.
Set a percentage of dollar value you want to have in gold (say, 90%) and silver (10%). This will be your "price." When the value of one stack falls below the percentage, make new purchases to add to that stack, until it is balanced.
My opinion is that gold is more convenient and stable (specially .9999 coins, not the gold-copper alloyed AGEs). You should have some silver too, but more or less as a bet.
In an emergency, the ability to carry your stacks with you is desirable. Even a monster box of ASEs is too heavy.

Hey, I'm new and doing some research, but I wanted to ask for some advice or info sources.
I was looking into silver coins and since I'm in europe figures I'd go for Wiener Philharmoniker. The current spot price as of today is about 12 euros/oz, whereas cheapest price for coins was 17-18 euros. As far as I read it was supposed to sell for 2-3 dollars abive the spot price. Now I understand the price crashed about a week ago, but is the coin price expected to do go down too? Btw I'm seeing that some online sellers are running out of coins and are accepting only orders of more than 300$. I suppose it's not normal?
I also wanted to ask, how fast does the coin value change in respect to the spot price. I'm seeing that coins are currently sold for 4-5€ more than they're bought for. Is this usually the case?

No, none of this is usually the case. We're seeing mass liquidation of the paper silver market (plummeting the spot price) while simultaneously seeing a massive run on physical silver (i.e. coins and bullion).

The skyrocketing demand for physical has completely depleted almost everyone's stocks and so now they have put in place minimum orders plus massive premiums over spot to buy anything. $1-2 over spot is the norm, and now we're seeing everything at like $7-10 over spot, and that's if they have any inventory to begin with.

I don't want to tell you what you should do, but I will say that if you're worried about the future of the economy and the value of the dollar/Euro then even accounting for the extreme premium, the end price really isn't that far off from what silver has sold for over the past year.

If you're a newb, then yes stick with national bullion coins like Silver Eagles, Austrian Philharmonics, Krugerrands, etc. bought from a reputable source. Don't buy based on

So I collected coins like my dad had from around the world, but it wasn't strictly gold or silver. I'm talking bronze, copper, iron, who the fuck else knows. I started collecting coins from an early age but I have literally nothing compared to even the newest collector.

Should I start by just putting physical cash towards these materials? Is that simplest way to really get into the game? If nothing else, that's how I'll start. But other opinions would just be appreciated I guess.
