Repo is a scam where primary dealers where are able to dump worthless assets onto the Feds balance sheet at book value for Tbills.

Ever seen an illiquid shitcoin with a marketcap of 10 million or so, but you can only sell $100 without dumping the price? Repo allows you to swap that as collateral and the FED will give you the full market value for it without the need for an orderbook or liquidity or anything like that.

This is the biggest scandal of our lifetimes.

"What Is a Repurchase Agreement?
A repurchase agreement (repo) is a form of short-term borrowing for dealers in government securities. In the case of a repo, a dealer sells government securities to investors, usually on an overnight basis, and buys them back the following day at a slightly higher price. That small difference in price is the implicit overnight interest rate. Repos are typically used to raise short-term capital. They are also a common tool of central bank open market operations."

You guys don't understand what repos are. Repos are daily loans that will be refreshed for a month. That means the FED holds onto a bank's assets for the day and provides the bank with liquidity. At the end of the day banks buy these assets back and then the FED lends out another trillion.

TLDR this increases the amount of dollars by 1 trillion, not 30 trillion. The fed isn't increasing the repo amount by 1 trillion everyday. Its still a big deal but if they increased it by 30 trillion (lol) the USD would be worthless.

Lol no there is not , this is why they are puting cash limits and why pension funds literally buy negative interest bonds.
They are doing this by force and before corona their economies were already into recession.

India pushed even harder than the eu with the DEMONetization meme, they went from growing at nearly 9% to fighting to reach 3% before corona just due to that policy.

>Huge corporations can't hold onto vaults of cash easily.

So instead of paying taxes they simply steal to everyone forcing the corporation to increase the cost of it's products and thus stealing from all society.

>But either way this reckless expansionary policy stuff is bullshit and is only making things worse.

5 years too late for warning , zh was basically a meme for warning this , everyone laughed at people like martin amstrong for warning about this shit.

>We need a reset.

It's literally too late already they will evaporate the government debts with inflation , they will evaporate pensions with inflation , they will destroy wages with inflation and they will turn society into a hellhole with insane taxes.

The only reset now is going to rural areas and disconnecting from the system.

The US military is designed to destroy other major industrial powers, which it hasn't gotten a chance to do since Korea. The fed will start 700B QE program and Mnuchin trumpbux at MINIMUM will include 1 trillion increase in the monetary base.

so 1.7 trillion new money injected into the us monetary base.

Now explain me how the fuck an increase of more than 50% of the usa monetary base in a few months with the economy not working is a nothingburger.

>the banks didn't stop offering overnight loans though?
Yes, they did. Since October. Here's october news:

>But things are different these days: while the effective Fed Funds rate for unsecured loans in the interbank market was up slightly at 2.25% on Monday evening, 16 September 2019, on Tuesday no money could be raised at these rates. The large institutions – which had excess liquidity – were not prepared to provide it at the usual interest rates. However, commercial banks had to meet their requirements. Over the course of the day, the cost of liquidity peaked at over 8% and was additionally covered with first-class collateral.
>In other words, the interest rate for overnight repurchase agreements rose to levels we haven’t seen since the collapse of Lehman Brothers investment bank. The situation threatened to escalate. If the costs of overnight refinancing exploded and exceeded the already marginal interest income, this would put banks in jeopardy. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, which is responsible for providing emergency liquidity, was initially slow to react and on Tuesday, 17 September, it temporarily lost control of short-term interest rates.

the whole discussion is about the US going to war with China/Russia in the event that they try and usurp the USD as the world's reserve currency. And yes, you bet your ass the US public would get behind the "the people who are hyperinflating our currency are the bad guys" propaganda train. The proxy war song and dance between the US and Russia throughout the 20th century was because there was never a severe enough impetus to attack the other directly, instead they slapfought with each other through intermediaries in reflection of the relatively minor stakes of the conflicts in question. Replacing the USD as the world's reserve currency is absolutely a big enough deal to be worth attacking these nations over, and the US military is absolutely capable of winning such a war unless nukes get involved. Again: fighting industrial powers like Russia and China is what the US military is built to do.

It's also interesting how that chart correlates with bitcoin price.

BTC was born in the blue dildo exacly there , then the halvings also correlate with the qe programs.

Except the last halving that literally peaked when the usd monetary base peaked and started to go down.
Then once the monetary base reached it's new lower level in march 2019 btc price started to grow again.

Daily. Each day 1 trillion is lend against collateral. For a month.

The effect is very similar to 1 trillion more dollars for a month. IMHO, this is a nothing burger. The system is a zombie and the banks won't relay that money outside of the system very much, maybe just to stocks very indirectly.

The real discussion point is transfers to citizens. A 300 billions gifted to people will be more inflationary than 10 trillon in loans to this system. QE is somewhat in between depending on what things they buy.

Bombing all the 200+ Russian air force air fields that are protected by S-400 layered air defense systems. That would require over 500 F-35s that haven't even left the factory yet and at least 500 Tomahawks plus 100 JASSMs.

The S-300 is jurassic though, like older than everyone posting in this thread. Obama did take claim of growth under total qe while raising taxes and spending, while trump had 3 years with growth and no qe.

The usa will not have hyperinflation thank god , but if the usa has 5% inflation rate which is a shitton the rest of the world will have repulsively high inflation because every country devaluates against the usd.

The repo is a nothingburger tough as you say.

The Fed only deals with "Primary Dealers" (these are the big banks like Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, etc). When a bank owns a stock or a corporate bond or both of these items, they're listed as assets on their balance sheet. One of the mains items in accounting is the rule that Assets = Liabilities + Equities. When the value of your assets goes down (e.g. when the stock or bond price declines), the assets on your balance sheet decline. To equal this drop, a firm's equity declines as well.

When this happens and the Fed decides to "inject money" into the system, they contact the Primary Dealers and say the following:

"Hey, we know the stock market is crashing. We will allow you to sell us your stocks and bonds AS IF THEY WERE STILL AT THE ORIGINAL PRICE".

This is the bailout. The primary dealer gets to rid themselves of the loss for free. When this transaction occurs, the Fed receives these stocks and bonds and MBS and other items under their assets. Now the Fed's LIABILITIES increase: this is the money they "print". The liability that increases is the reserves to the primary dealers. Now they don't actually print the money, but they increase the Primary Dealers' reserve account: electronic funds they can then use to transfer to others. THIS IS HOW THEY CREATE THE "MONEY"

The Primary Dealers then are SUPPOSED TO take this money and dish it out to the real repo market. They offer hedge funds, financial institutions, mutual funds, pension managers relief from their losses. They also are SUPPOSED TO offer relief on corporate debt and institutions that need to rid themselves of the dropping stocks.

Whos to blame? The fed and big banks. The Fed to allowing these parasites to subsist, the banks for continuing the buy shitty stocks rather than sticking with the business of just loans and safeguarding the deposits. If you want to get deep, it is the entire system's fault. Boomers are to blame, the jews are to blame, everyone is to blame.
