I just don't understand how everybody isn't putting all their money into index trackers.

S&P 500, FTSE 250, Russell 3000 ... there is just no way these companies aren't back to normal in ~ 5 years.

I'm literally in the process of selling my house right now (difficult due to Coronavirus, agencies closed etc) but as soon as it's done, I'm dumping everything in FTSE Global All Cap Index Fund. Should make at least £300,000 in the next few years.

Corporations permanently changed their operations after 2008 crisis, resulting in much fewer well-paying jobs. Same thing is going to happen in the aftermath of this. LOTS of jobs are going to be gone forever meaning the market for products is going to contract.

>> No.17934977

Its not that good value yet. Bear market may last 2-4 years, and then double that to get back to previous ATH not even taking into account inflation. If you bought in 2000 for example it may have been 10+ years before you even broke even in real dollars. I'd wait until the market is down at least 50% before starting to scale in, and only start go to heavy after heavy capitulations which will probably happen in a year or so. By then you'll have a better idea of what companies aren't going to $0 too.

I sold my ftse250 tracker and went in on shell RSDB -13% yield, 50% down, one of the strongest oil companies.
