I just placed my limit orders for my calls I'm trying to sell tomorrow. I'm looking for 100% profit and a little extra to cover commission. I still have hopes that we'll open green enough from all the vultures swooping in that some algo will pick up my options before the crash resumes. If not I'll either settle for market if it's above 50% profit or wait until Friday for the end of week pump.

Bill Ackman is one of the few intelligent investors I've come across. He runs the numbers and respectively, I'd assume much more than that as well. He is very smart and people pick up on that. You can usually tell when someone is smart, and that's why, I assume, his words were taken with such sobriety and effect. If you get bored or have time, I'd suggest looking at some of his interviews on YouTube. His capability and intelligence are absolutely marvelous.

One thing we can advantage of is uncertainty. Maybe the market is pricing in that things could get worse. If, as individual speculators, we take as certain fact that the markets will continue to get much worse, we can make relative gains simply by sitting on the sidelines and eating our popcorn for a little bit. Aside from that, very little looks bullish in the near term. Something like SNSS can make a lot of money just because the lines on the chart go up and down so wildly.

Am I the retard? Look at this 1-month chart for SNSS's stock price. There's a massive sell off without any real deterioration in the underlying fundamentals, namely, that they are literally curing cancer and will make me lots of money when their trials prove it the other fundamentals don't really matter because it's biotech. Mr. Market says that curing cancer is worth less than 42 million right now... Even our beloved GALT, which is in much more sorry straits now than SNSS is, is valued by Mr. Market at more than double SNSS. Do you think that makes sense, my good sir? And let me remind you that SNSS is curing CANCER, while GALT is focusing on a much less glamorous disease that most people don't even think about.

That's where what I see many currently bullish investors are missing it. They are essentially jumping the gun and running at the red cloth so to speak. We have much further to go and I have not seen or even discussed any quantitative evidence that proves otherwise, especially from the ones who think now is a good buy in time. There is much more effect that has to take place in the timeline and it's all measurable if you're not too lazy to do it. Will the markets rebound from this? My goodness I can almost guarantee it. Will it be reasonable to assume we've hit the bottom before the end of April? I doubt it. I am, presuming the bottom to be around September/November, based on a very rough calculation as to what will and has taken place. We could see another 3-4% drop per week until liquidation flows into the markets. Even then people will still pull out of stocks for mortgage payments, rent payments, funds liquidating, etc. This is just the beginning.

Ackman is smart but not perfect. Also, stocks are case by case. Not just blanketed. You cannot think just binarily with stocks, that is how you lose money, and probably a part in why the phrase "you can't time the market" came about. People fail to see the future all too much. That's where the money is. Seeing the future and putting forth the effort and time/energy to let it speak to you.

Life is not all binary. Think quantum computing. Fluidity. Not just yes or no. It's too simplistic and needs more mental acuity/refinement to be gauged accurately.

Just for the record, I'm not the SNSS Anon. The main stocks I've shilled here are ODP (Office Depot) and LCI (Lannett Co., Inc.), both of which gave great opportunities to make money last year, and I have not been regularly posting or even browsing these threads since late last year. As for SNSS, aside from the actual prospects of the company, if we look at SNSS Anon's stock picks as posted in these threads, at least as far as I have seen, a simple gambler's fallacy analysis shows that he is probably due for a big win on this one.

Excellent advice. Although I would say now is a good time to start implementing spreads, but you need to make sure both sides of the spread have a high probability/propensity to land in your profit margin. The up days may decrease now but there is still money to be made on the considerable pumps, just make sure your numbers line up and you're looking through your sights and not beside the barrel if you get my analogy.888888888888888

I'm a bit perplexed as well on that.
Could it be because all the stocks are built up by fractional reserve based make up cash rather than the cash that people actually use to buy goods.

Stocks is also of course a logarithmic thing for the company value rather than a strict multiplication of current stock price x number of stocks. This is because once people start selling the value goes down with it.
