the next few decades are going to be less like the great depression and more like the collapse of the western roman empire

This. Most of the jobs that came back became low paying unbenefitted wage slavery. We further decreased the value of labor by importing millions of browns, but hey at least the stock market went up for a little while

I'm probably fucked.
My internship was revoked due to this crash/corona and it would've been a huge boost to my resume. Without it getting a job will be extremely difficult, doubly so in a recession (which I will probably be graduating into)

I'm not sure why everyone 4 years ago decided "You know what, I'm gonna study engineering because then I get job and money :DDD"
None of the people with that mindset are seen as competent or even interested in the work they do by their employers, and now there's an overflow of engineering majors expecting to get hired. Real shame

And it keeps happening
>Hoover won the Republican nomination in the 1928 presidential election, and decisively defeated the Democratic candidate, Al Smith. The stock market crashed shortly after Hoover took office, and the Great Depression became the central issue of his presidency.

I was actually interested in my field and am good at math and physics (even though in reality that's not what engineers do at all) and in reality 99% of the workforce isn't "interested" in their job, they do it because it's necessary to survive and make money. The only people (and this goes for any field) that genuinely love their job and would not quit even if they had enough money to retire are those who are artistically obsessed with something that just so happens to make enough money to support their lifestyle.

I was just clarifying his point, I don't think it matters outside of realizing that taking over a decade to solve a depression is ridiculous.
