This leverages the human panic response to the word 'mutation' since they think of mutants, x-men, chernobyl, etc etc etc. The reality is that virusus (and humans, and everything else) are constantly mutating and 99.99999% of the time it doesn't fucking do shit. There is no conceivable way that you could look at a virus and look at a specific population of bats in brazil and 'know' that if A collided into B some magical ultramutation would occur in corona like a final form sequence in an anime.
