Coinbase hacked?
Binance exit scamming?
Tether imploding?

Seriously I'm in this Ponzi shitshow since 2013 and I rarely see something like this.
Cripto is volatile as fuck, but a stupid flu can't half the fucking price in one day, especially of a deflationary asset like BTC.

Weak handed faggots panic selling avalanche. When it bounces its going to bounce hard and not stop going up. These faggots selling now are going to be sorry. I sold the very bottom of $2800 in 2017 after china panic, and bought back in at a loss around 5k, I'm not falling for it again.

Crypto is supposed to be decentralised and separate from the main stock markets, yet every time it goes down crypto takes a dicking even harder?

Why the fuck do these retards keep shitting the bed for a few minutes and just panic selling everything, across all coins, thereby ending up causing TWO huge liquidations in the past week?

I thought crypto fags were supposed to be smarter than this shit, and now because of their stupidity I've lost EVERYTHING because they've made the market do the exact opposite of what it should.

And all this...because of a FUCKING BAT VIRUS? Am I to understand that even fucking crypto is infected by a huge number of retarded normies and that's why it's getting ruined like this? Are these people seriously that fucking dumb?

This is the real deal, mate. Central banks have nowhere to run.

Boomers are all starting to retire. Consumer spending is way down. The system is propped up on nothing but Keynesian funny-money.

The boomers who survive this virus are going to lose their retirement savings, and then their pensions.

Negative interest rates and fed printing to cushion the ultra-rich will wake up the masses from their Keynesian consoomerist delusion.

This shit isn't just a virus panic, not by a long shot.

Just wait until people start to ask why, if the fed can supposedly print unlimited cash with no consequences, do they need to pay taxes at all.

Infection rates and mortality rates can vary. If something has a mortality rate of 5%, doesn't mean if you take 100 random infected 5 of them will die. It means on average this is the amount of people that will die. For example in germany the rate is at <1%, while in italy it's >7%.
Not to mention that you don't calculate mortality by infected/deaths, but rather (deaths+fully recovered)/deaths, which they very obviously did wrong in your example.
And to top it off, i'd rather trust the numbers of various studies by actual virologists, the CDC, WHO and other entities, which all point to an R0 between 1.5 and 3.5 and a mortality rate of 3-5%.

Not really.
Only reason they vary is different data gathering possibilities.

That ship is a massively representative sample size of nearly 4,000 people, with the vast majority of clinical trials involving fewer than 100 people.
PLUS the average age of the passengers is extremely high.
PLUS they're all packed together on a legit disease incubator.

And still only a fifth or so of them got infected, and only 1% of the infected died (all in their 80s).
And this number has been stable for many days now.

I’ve heard some talk on the dark web that Bitcoin is no longer a secure asset, the software has been hacked, by an anon hacker group/individual and people are currently unaware that they actually have no bitcoin even though it’s showing bitcoin in their account, and majority of it has been moved to other crypto’s and getting cashed out.

Literally yes.

>you don’t calculate mortality rate by dividing deaths and infected
You literally do.

K so if i flip a coin and it's tails, i can bet all my money on the next one being heads. That absolutely how probability works.

And since this is apparently an extremely difficult concept for the geniuses of /biz/ to grasp: You don't count infected in the mortality rate. Infected, that haven't recovered, can still die.
What you do is calculate the mortality rate by adding the number of people where the virus has run it's course, meaning deaths+recovered and calculate which percentage has died.

There are always going to be minor genetic variances and external factors (like smoking).

Point is that cruise ship is an extremely adequate sample size, with ideal disease spreading conditions and a very aged population; and even then only 1/5th got infected and 1% of the infected died (all in their 80s).
With these numbers staying stable for two weeks now.

This. The entire global economy is tanking, and guess what, that's going to bring everything down with it. To add to this, things are just getting started with the coronavirus, especially in the US. This is definitely not the bottom yet.

You need cash during the deflation (assets go to shit), buy the dip (weeks away at earliest, maybe months) before inflation sets in and nukes fiat.

No major institution has defaulted yet and we aren't even at peak virus, people should not be buying yet.

Hi. I work in the financial markets industry so let me give you some insights. Maybe it helps.

Stock markets went holla ballooza because of two shocks:
1) demand shock: corona virus spread which itself is not worrying, however govts literally stopping the economy was a massive demand shock
2) supply shock: at the same, KSA started an oil price war with Russia to flood the markets.

Two together led to a massive re-pricing on Monday, with the interesting fact that even Gold got hammered unconscious, which is normally considered a safe haven.

Now from here on I'm speculating:

A. The sell off was way too strong for what happened fundamentally. Seems like there was some massive players who got margin called, who had to liquidate at any price.
B. Bitcoin got hammered too, similar to gold. Now my theory is that not only some crypto people got margin called, but some big global players that had exposure to the equity markets. Margin call equity market they sold whatever they had, which included a huge portion of btc (huge at least relative to btc market). That was the 8000 to 6000 drop.
C. The overnight drop tonight was a result of panic among everyone, also bc the whale in B had already absorbed all kind of buy-side liquidity that was there

Most people who aren't old and/or sick are hardly even sick.
The current mortality rate is massively inflated because tons of people are only mildly sick and never get tested. Only the severe cases are tested pretty much.

This is the only smart answer here. Boeing, Ford, Halliburton, (blue chips) etc are all going to 2-3x in the coming months as part of a rebound to all this nonsense, especially oil companies because of the KSA/Russia beef. If you're lucky, you might even get a 5-10x out of boomer stocks if you pick smartly.

Or go back to BTC, crabwalk for another two years and maybe, MAYBE get back to $10k in Q4 2021.
