I doubt it. It just doesn't add up and only 60m BAT are left until full supply is released. Brave has to get more money from Advertisers or greatly reduce rewards, if not they will bankrupt.

to became an author you have to fill an application and show previous writing experience.If you are able to do it you can tip yourself using another account. the problem is that you can only tip the same author once(maybe twice) a day.
